The last thing the failed president can have is a lot of empty chairs come Thursday night. Now the pathetic Democrats are reduced to paying for people to show up. I wonder if they’ll be supplying free doobies and munchies?
College students from across North Carolina will arrive in Charlotte by the busload. Same with members of predominantly black churches in neighboring South Carolina.
Their goal: help fill a 74,000-seat outdoor stadium to capacity when President Obama accepts the Democratic nomination Thursday night.
Anything short of a full house on the final night of the Democratic Party’s national convention will be instant fodder for Republicans eager to use empty seats as symbols of waning voter enthusiasm for Obama.
Democrats have been fretting for months over whether the president can draw a capacity crowd at Bank of America Stadium. Polls show voter enthusiasm is down, as are Obama’s crowds for his battleground state campaign rallies.
Obama advisers insist the stadium will be filled when Obama delivers his speech. Vice President Joe Biden also will speak Thursday night, along with Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, who will vouch for Obama’s national security credentials.
Why am I reminded of the funeral of Kim Il Jong?
They cannot have a stadium of empty chairs!

As a parent of 3 college students, someone needs to remind those kids what their priorities are…. those classes are expensive and there are very few good excuses for skipping either them or the study time you need to prepare for them. Filling a seat for Obama’s speech might be exciting, but it won’t get you a degree or a job.
To quote my own son “What’s with this Occupy protest crap… my parent’s expect me to be Occupying a desk or a job.”
This is a bunch of crap. I stood in line along with many, many others for 5 hours waiting to get a ticket to see Obama give his speech. Not sure where you get this misinformation from, but it is far from the truth.
As for North Carolina students missing class… ALL classes have been cancelled for the day of the speech. Just saying!! Misinformation once again has been spewed. :/
So, Steve….you waited five hours to get yourself a ticket to see the dear leader? In what venue, pray tell? What do the locals call that place down there; “anything but BoA” stadium? And why do you think that the local colleges cancelling classes that day is gonna impress anyone? I heard that student health fees are going up in NC, at least in part because of Obamacare. You may want to ask the dear leader about that when you see him.
