Romney on Horrifying Jobs Report: ‘If last night was the party, this morning is the hangover’

As Democrats drag their sorry asses out of bed in Charlotte this morning it’ll feel like they just had an anvil dropped on their heads.

“If last night was the party, this morning is the hangover. For every net new job created, nearly four Americans gave up looking for work entirely. This is more of the same for middle class families who are suffering through the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression. After 43 straight months of unemployment above 8%, it is clear that President Obama just hasn’t lived up to his promises and his policies haven’t worked. We aren’t better off than they were four years ago. My plan for a stronger middle class will create 12 million new jobs by the end of my first term. America deserves new leadership that will get our economy moving again.”

Twelve million may seem ambitious, but adding half that at this point would be a major imporvement over the disaster in the White House.

Well, at least he’s pushing the participation rate. It would be nice if he pushed the more accurate unemployment statistic. It would underscore nicely the basic dishonesty of the dear leader.

Eh, best to focus on the BLS number, even if it’s not the best indicator. Were Romney to be elected (and I hope that he is) I’m sure he would prefer that it was mentioned than the other possibilities, which have the number higher.
