The headliners at last night’s Republican National Convention may have been New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ann Romney, but Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love, who is running for Congress against six-term incumbent Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah, stole the show earlier in the night with a pitch perfect performance.
“If I could describe freedom in one word,” Love said in an introductory video before she spoke, “it would be agency: the ability to make a decision and reap the benefits of those decisions or suffer the consequences. If I could go to Washington tomorrow and change one thing, it would be to restore the power of the decision making back to the people.”
If that isn’t a perfect encapsulation of limited government conservatism, we don’t know what is.
