Report: NFL, Officials Close to Agreement

If the NFL didn’t get this done right away following that debacle Monday night they seriously were risking tarnishing a multibillion-dollar brand. Let’s hope it’s done today.

The NFL’s locked-out officials could return as early as this weekend after a marathon bargaining session lasted into the early hours of Wednesday morning, according to ESPN.

The network reported on its website quoting sources on both sides that “an agreement in principle is at hand.”

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told that he would not confirm an agreement has been reached.

“We are not commenting on that story,” Aiello said.

The NFL — which locked out the officials in June after the league and the NFL Referees Association failed to come to deal on a new contract — has said previously that the replacement officials would work through Week 5. The NFLRA claims, however, that its members have passed physicals, have been trained and are set to go.

By all means. Lets give these “perfect officials” what they want, unsustainable pensions and more benefits for working one day a week, 6 months out of the year.

Fuck YOU if you have to pay MORE money in ticket prices. As long as they don’t have to contribute to a pissant 401k that the REST of working America has to for retirement.

Screw the NFL and it’s unions. The same goes for the rest of the shitty sports leagues.

I’m tired of getting the finger from these bastards that I’m not paying ENOUGH to be entertained.
