The Patriots hit the Broncos hard from the opening kickoff and cruised to a 45-10 victory, sending Tim Tebow back to his harsh reality and sending the Patriots into the AFC title game for the first time since the 2007 season.

All week, they were asked about losing the three straight playoff games, starting with the Super Bowl defeat by the Giants. Any more questions?

“This is my fourth year in the league, and I haven’t won a playoff game yet,” captain Jerod Mayo said during the week. “That’s not the norm around here, so we have to get it done.”

Now, the top-seeded Patriots await the winner of today’s Ravens-Texans game to see who they face next Sunday at 3 p.m. at Gillette Stadium. They are one win from the Super Bowl. Before last night, their last playoff victory came when they beat the Chargers, 21-12, in the AFC title game.
