Hey, why let facts get in the way when you’re getting your Koch Brothers hate on?
Protesters say they believe the Koch brothers are involved with the Pipeline project despite the Koch brothers saying they have nothing to do with the proposed project.
“They refine 25 percent of tar sands oil that is imported into this country so this pipeline would put that tar sands production on steroids with development of this pipeline, so that’s why we see them as supportive,” said President of the Sierra Club, Robin Mann.
But Koch Industries is firing back, denying any involvement with the pipeline.
“These claims are false. We have claimed previously we are not involved in any way in the Keystone XL Pipeline,” said Mark Holden, VP of Koch Industries. “We are not behind the construction, we are not the owners, we have no financial investment. We are not the proposed shipper or proposed customer. This is a political attack.”
They believe there is more to the demonstration than just protesting the pipeline.
“They are using this as a way to promote their own political agenda and fund raise,” says Holden. “I think that is all that is going on here. They are not really interested in the truth.”
The Koch brothers recently revealed the contents of hundreds of emails which included death threats.
Death threats from mostly peaceful liberals? Whodathunkit?
On Thursday, Charles Koch authorized employees to reveal the contents of hundreds of e-mails that the Kochs and employees have received in the last year, some of them containing death threats. “I hope you all DIE,” one e-mail, received last year, said. “You people are ruining our country, and all for $$$.” “Choose your expiration Date, Brothers…” said another. “The Koch brothers will DIE!!!!!” said another.
There were hundreds more — some from Wisconsin, where the Kochs were accused of aiding Gov. Scott Walker in his disputes against unions. Most of them were signed with what appear to be real names, many contained obscenities, and some Koch employees said these messages had made them nervous.
