Obama’s Benghazi Lead ‘Investigator’: America is a Seething Hotbed of ‘Islamophobia’

We’re sure a fair investigation will come from this asshole.

America is a seething hotbed of “Islamophobia,” filled with ignorant racist rubes who irrationally fear the benign Muslim religion, according to the Obama administration’s lead investigator into the Benghazi atrocities.

So said former Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering in more polished, diplomatic language during an Oct. 23 panel discussion at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. The talk was on “what role the faith community can play in fighting Islamophobia,” a make-believe mental illness that Islamists would love to have listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Radical Islam’s stateside defenders frequently accuse anti-terrorism hawks of “McCarthyism,” hurling the epithet “Islamophobe” the same way American leftists use the word “racist” to shut down debate.

Pickering’s pontifications came two and a half weeks after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton named him to head a State Department “Accountability Review Board” tasked with examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths on Sept. 11, 2012, the 11th anniversary of 9/11, of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, information management officer Sean Smith, and security personnel Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods at the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

At last week’s panel discussion, Pickering piously but incorrectly invoked the Holocaust to argue that American Muslims were somehow in danger.

“I’m not great at quotations,” he said, foreshadowing a misattribution to come.

“Perhaps it was [German theologian and dissident] Dietrich Bonhoeffer who said of the Nazis, when they came for the Jews, I didn’t speak up. I was not a Jew. When they came for the Catholics, I didn’t speak up, I was not a Catholic. When they came for us, no one spoke up. There was no one left to do so,” Pickering said, paraphrasing famous, poignant verses actually spoken by Third Reich-era German pastor Martin Niemoller.

Pickering said that Americans’ lack of familiarity with Islam –and not Islamic terrorist attacks on Americans— fuels hostility toward Muslims.

“Data shows that those Americans who do not know Muslims, who do not know much about Islam, are the ones who harbor the greatest feelings of prejudice,” he said.

There is a “strong, continuing, and perhaps, in an unfortunate way in some areas, growing, prejudice against Muslims and Islam,” he said.

This jerk should be dismissed immediately. Instead he’ll probably get a promotion.

Americans know little about the Amish and Hutterite faiths, but these people are welcome in America. We know (most of us) little about the Buddhist and Shinto faiths. Their followers are welcome also. As a nation, we have not rejected Islam simply because it is different; as a nation, we haven’t rejected Islam at all.
I know a fair amount about Islam, more than some Americans, and I am ready to welcome any Muslim who will live with me as the Amish and the Shinto do: living their faiths in their own lives and asking of me only that I leave them in peace.
Islamists make up a large part of Islam, which worries me greatly. Islamaphobia is a pejorative term for a valid worry.
And those who will live in peace are welcome, Moslem or Hutterite or Christian or Shinto.

Without acknowledging islamism as the most powerful force driving revolution, civil war and disorder during the Arab Spring, you cannot possibly understand and judge how parlous the security situation was for our diplomats and intelligence agents in Benghazi and how urgent their pleas for additional security were.

You also cannot understand how the unrealistic and misplaced hopes of the State Department for the Arab Spring were a primary cause of the failure to shore up the security situation, right through to the mortar fire which killed Glen Doherty and Ty Woods.

“they came for our ambassador, his aide and two CIA operatives, and the dear leader and I don’t give a shit”.

Islamophobia implies a “fear” of Islam. I’m not afraid of muslims. Loathing and disgust may be more appropriate words to describe my feelings.

What I can’t stand is the thought of a religion that encourages the mutilation of its women via clitorectomies.

And I despise any religion that openly slaughters its daughters, wives, sisters, and any other female because of some perceived offense against the honor of a man.

And how about muslims who murder someone who dares to “insult” Mohammad by picturing him in any way, shape, or form.

And what’s with Sharia and the demands of muslim immigrants in their new countries that all others submit to Allah.

And muslims can’t seem to be able to live with other people of different religious beliefs. Hell, they can’t even get along with each other due to Sunni/Shia and other sectarian conflicts.

I won’t even mention their total hate for Jews of any country. And one picture that sticks in my mind is the image of Leon Klinghoffer being tossed off the ocean liner Achille Lauro while still strapped into his wheelchair. That and four jets being hijacked and flown into the ground and three other buildings thereby murdering thousands of innocent people.

And anyone who straps a bomb on a child in the name of Allah can kiss my ass. I’m not saying all muslims are this way. But enough seem to pull this shit to stain the name of the others.

And where are the so-called “moderate muslims” and why won’t they speak up and demand an end to these practices? I’m not talking about muslims in America speaking up. I’m talking about “moderate muslims” in the Middle East. Just where the hell are they?

It’s muslims themselves that have inspired the hatred others in the world feel for them. And they continue to do so on a daily basis. They want respect and religious tolerance and yet they won’t reciprocate.

I’m very skeptical and leery of a religion that does all the things I mentioned above to those who won’t submit to the will of Allah. It’s not fear or hatred I feel towards muslims. It’s disgust.
