Obama To Do Staten Island Photo Op, Calls for ‘National Conversation’ on So-Called ‘Climate Change’

A national conversation that would go something like “the planet is warming even though we have zero evidence, so let’s wreck the economy further by implementing junk science recommendations.”

Now in our long history of extreme weather events it’s only been recently when the climate scammers tried to politicize these storms. But I’m sure it’ll be comforting for the bedraggled people of Staten Island that this buffoon will be using them to promote an agenda.

Forget about them now being homeless and freezing, he’s got some cheap political points to score and they’re the props.

President Barack Obama is traveling to Staten Island Thursday to view recovery efforts from the massive East Coast storm Sandy.

The president is scheduled to arrive at Miller Field at about 1:30 Thursday, where he will meet with families affected by the storm, local officials and first-responders.

On the eve of his visit, Obama called for a national “conversation” on the subject of climate change.

These people just want help and the basics, like electricity, heat and shelter. But Dear Leader will just use them for a photo op and get back to the important stuff, like his short game.

He’ll also be joined by the useless governor and mayor of New York, two more equally clueless schmucks whose incompetence has been on display the past two weeks.

The folks are thrilled.

While the neighborhood buzzed with Secret Service, the National Guard and the NYPD, out-of-towner Dennis Murphy worried about the effects of a neighborhood on lockdown, where streets can be accessed only with a local ID.

“I’m going to have to sleep in one of these houses tonight if I want to help,” said Murphy, who flew in from Seattle to help his family in the neighborhood. “I leave on Monday and don’t have a day to waste while he walks around and makes a speech.”

“I want him to help me move this refrigerator,” said Achilleas Siozos, 53, as he cleaned up outside his home.

Maybe if FEMA ever shows up they can help.

I guess yesterday’s lovefest in the East Room wasn’t enough to feed The One’s addiction. He’s got to get some FEMA big wigs, local pols, and take some cops and firefighters off duty to congratulate each other and have a group hug.

I just saw the President on TV say — and I’m not kidding: “There’s still a bit of cleanup to do.”
