Having moved his speech indoors in fear of thousands of empty seats, the Democrats weakly used the excuse of possible lightning tonight. But as it turns out, the skies would have cleared just in time for his coronation.
Here’s the forecast for the hours leading up to 10 pm:
But then, as Rahm Emanuel notes, the rain stops when Obama arrives.
“The president arrives, the rain stops, the sun comes out.” Emanuel said. “Coincidence? I think not.”
Emanuel added that last time the president visited, the weather “was 71 degrees and beautiful.”
“He arrives, the sun comes out, and things are beautiful again.” Emanuel concluded.

Such a shame for all those hoping to see their God. Such disappointment.
“I don’t hate the Democratic Party because of it,” said Charlotte’s Terry Shipley. “I’m just disappointed.”
Said Charlotte’s Lesa Kastanas: “We need something for the rest of us – those of us who don’t have shiny credentials.”
