Fittingly, one of these disgraced Solyndra scumbags was spotted juggling lemons at an Obama fundraiser.
Oh, it’s getting crazy in Piedmont at President Obama’s fundraiser there at the home of Wayne Jordan and Quinn Delaney. Steve Westly — the former state controller, major Obama fundraiser and target of a GOP attack ad the other day — is juggling lemons, “entertaining a boy waiting down by the swimming pool” according to the fine reporting of the Oakland Trib’s Josh Richman, catching a detail the national press missed. Ah, the value of the local pool.
UPDATE: And the GOP is loving the sight of Westly at the Obama fundraiser. Also spotted was Matt Rogers, an ex-Department of Energy adviser, who helped approve Solyndra’s loan.
No sooner were the lemons in the air than the Republican National Commitee had made lemonade out of it:
“Looks like some of the central characters in the Solyndra scandal and other green energy controversies gave up even more money for the Obama campaign tonight,” quips Matt Connelly of the RNC. “And is there any more fitting metaphor for the failures of Obama’s green energy program than one of them juggling lemons?”
