Obama Pimping Basketball Pool Trying to Raise Money

Man, this guy is just shameless. Every year around this time we’ve got to suffer him on ESPN as the hosts slobber over him and his stupid basketball picks. Now he’s actually using March Madness to try and raise money.

President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign is trying to make some bucks off March Madness with its own version of the NCAA Tournament office pool.

It’s called “The Obama Bracket Challenge.” Visitors to Obama’s campaign website, BarackObama.com, are invited to pick the winners of each tournament matchup.

The prize isn’t much, though: The campaign says it will “publish a list of everyone who does better than the President” on the website. Anyone who fills out a bracket is invited to donate money to Obama’s campaign.

Here’s an idea for another contest: See if you can accurately guess how much higher gas prices will be today than yesterday.

Even at this moment, teams of White House advisers are relentlessly briefing the president in advance of his latest ESPN appearance on how to spell ‘Syracuse’ correctly in his NCAA Tournament bracket.

Every year I enjoy another reminder that this President has so many interests and activities other than working on solving this nation’s problems. At least while he’s working on his bracket he isn’t fucking things up further.
