So what if he’s blowing billions of our tax dollars on failed green energy scams?
How dare you question him!
Obama strongly defended his plans to make America a leader in new energy sources like biofuels, and wind power and solar power, and rebuked Republicans for opposing his plans to cut subsidies to profit cranking oil producers.
“If some of these folks were around when Columbus set sail … they would not have believed that the world was round,” he said, at a Community College in the Maryland suburbs outside Washington DC.
“They probably would have agreed with one of the pioneers of the radio who said, “Television won’t last. It’s a flash in the pan,” he said.
“One of Henry Ford’s advisors was quoted saying, “The horse is here to stay but the automobile is only — a fad.”
“There have always been folks who are the naysayers and don’t believe in the future and don’t believe in trying to do things differently.”
It’s not as if we don’t believe in trying to do things differently. Let’s just not waste trillions doing it.
He has no plans, no ideas, no record of success to run on in this area. Instead we get snide, childish name-calling and derision.
What an asshole.
Update: You would think Obama would at least get his facts straight (via Instapundit).
As far as muddled historic references go, Obama’s hardly the first presidential candidate to screw things up on the trail. But for an address specifically going after his opponents for their ignorance, it’s probably not great to have a “citation needed” banner on top of his speech.
What a dope. All you can do it point and laugh.

Well. That’s very unkind to assholes, don’t you think?
Waitr one. I thought that Columbus was evil and stuff? Now he’s back? Who knew?
This is a deeply held religious belief on the Left.

Dare to question their Dogma on this and here is what you get.
I now understand Obama’s “hope and change” message.
After you fill up your gas tank, you hope you get back some change.
Of course right now Obama is panicking over oil prices and what it will do to the economy and his re-election chances:
So how about a song?
The Ballad of Barack Obama…
I don’t remember Henry Ford, the Wright Brothers, Tom Edison, and Philo T. Farnsworth developing their signature projects on the public dime. For that matter, Ferdinand and Isabella paid Columbus out of their own pockets (which were of course in their citizens’ pockets to a lesser degree than the IRS is today). What a apparatchik dope he is.
Isn’t he precious! He’s just adorable to himself, and he assumes his audience feels the same way. That’s why he can just make snide remarks, elbow his listeners in the ribs and never make a coherent point.
“A lot of the folks who, you know, are running for a certain office, who shall go unnamed,” wink, wink, nudge nudge. Isn’t he precious?
“They dismiss wind power. They dismiss solar power. They make jokes about biofuels,” Obama said. Yeah, Sherlock, so what’s your point? You think being arch and ironic can make solar and wind power economically viable? Aren’t you adorable!
And it’s adorable the way you always talk about the “folks.” Never “people,” always “folks.” You think that ingratiates you and fools people into thinking you’re one of the common people?
Moronic jokes about the Flat Earth Society and your cutesy-poo stroking of your audience won’t make a coherent point of produce one drop of gasoline. As a President, you’re great on dishing out the bull, and lousy on producing any constructive policies.
We’ve invested in alternative energy since the Carter administration. My car still runs on gasoline. Alternative energy is a massive failure.
Obama ought to put his money where his mouth is by conducting the rest of his campaign solely on wind and solar power. I’m not inclined to listen to the inane scolding of a man who jets from here to there on our dime every day while the rest of us pay premium prices to get to our jobs, have light to see and heat to warm our houses. So unless he is ready to list out where, tomorrow, we can begin making a changeover to wind and solar power, he can shut his smug cakehole. His “green” scam has been exposed. He ought to give it a rest.
When you have nothig else you have only the absurd.
Obama is his own biggest fool. Well, maybe Biden – a toss-up.
Asshole doesn’t quite capture the nuance of this little twit’s negativity.
Punk does.
He’s a punk.
A skinny, whiny punk.
He’s got buddies with power–muscle power.
He’ll insult you and roll his eyes at you, protected by his buddies.
Punk.
Whenever Obama (or just about any liberal or Democrat) speaks about energy I always think of that old saying, “If bullshit was electricity he’d be a powerhouse.”
Doesn’t Obama know that the Flat Earth theory was just a myth? Columbus didn’t set out to prove the earth was round…in fact, most people already knew it was round. For thousands of years before Columbus it was accepted as a fact that the world was round.
Obama needs to learn some history.
Mike said; “We’ve invested in alternative energy since the Carter administration. My car still runs on gasoline. Alternative energy is a massive failure.”
Mike, you’re a little off. Prior to the Model T they were still trying to make a battery car. Ford’s design was better and actually worked. It still works.
The whole reason Columbus went was because he KNEW it was round. He was waaaaaaay off in his calulations regarding its circumference. And he also knew that land had been found to the west. Which he thought was a nifty direct route to the Indies. Without having to detour around Africa. And he was right. Also, very wrong ( that whole Americas thing).
The dear leader’s head would explode before he comprehended half of this.
and rebuked Republicans… “If some of these folks were around when Columbus set sail … they would not have believed that the world was round….”
And the Democrats, with their failed green energy policies are the alchemists of today.
