Let’s make sure he’s got plenty of time to watch basketball come 2013. Poor thing had to decide whether to raise campaign funds or watch hoops last night.
Toughest decision of his life, apparently.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney previously told reporters that the president, an avid basketball fan, is “very impressed” with Lin, who took the Knicks to a seven-game winning streak that was broken last week by the New Orleans Hornets. The Knicks also lost in Miami on Thursday night.
According to the Associated Press, Obama was headlining an event in the home of Dallas Mavericks guard Vince Carter, where attendees also included former NBA stars.
According to the report, Obama demurred on the chance to play one-on-one with Carter, saying he “didn’t bring my sneakers.”
“I don’t know what I would be doing with myself if I at least didn’t have some basketball games around,” Obama said.
Well, at least he’ll soon have March Madness, so we’ll be seeing him being publicly fellated by the stooges at ESPN as he makes his bracket selections.
