NYPD Officer Stabbed During Clash With Mostly Peaceful Occupy Mob

Ringing in the New Year with some mostly peaceful violence.

Some 800 Occupy Wall Street protesters began the new year by trying to retake Zuccotti Park last night, starting a massive clash with police in which one officer was stabbed in the hand with a pair of scissors.

A suspect was arrested in the 11:30 p.m. incident, according to a law enforcement source.

Hundreds in the crowd of occupiers then surrounded the ambulance as it tried to leave with the wounded officer, the source said.

The officer, who was not identified, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Shortly before midnight OWS protesters took to Twitter to proclaim their assault on Zuccotti — from which they were booted by cops in November.

“Barricades being torn down at liberty [Zuccotti] park,” they wrote. “Happy new years!!”

They later tweeted: “Big crowd at liberty square. We have taken back the park.”

They’re so proud of themselves.

This is the worst article ive ever seen written.
    No one was stabbed
The office cut his hand on something that was in someones pocket when he liteally went to THROW them.
The officer did not go to the hospital immediately and stayed at the park.

To call it a stabbing or call him in stable condition is absurd. There was nothing life threatening. Get your propaganda out of this.

    It’s pathetic.

I wonder who is spitting the propaganda. The blogger or you? You give us no links citations to confirm what you are saying.

    Hey Stupid,

Why don’t you complain to the NY Post writer who wrote the original article? The indented part is known as a “quote”.

If it was up to me I would have had the park sealed off in chain link with barbed wire leaning inward. Then when the occu-idiots stormed in I would simply have the gates shut trapping them like rats. The only way out of there would be with handcuffs on. Hope they brought their own food because I wouldn’t be giving them any.

They should bring back the prison work-gangs of the last century so these people find out what REAL work is like.

I wasn’t there so I don’t know what happened, but there are a number of incidents like this happening, and a constant demonization of cops trying to enforce the law.

An officer went to a hospital over this ‘This is stupid’. Where’s the propaganda? If a hippie had been sent to the hospital by cops who invaded his property without a warrant, refusing to leave, and being generally disgusting, then other cops actually held up the hippie’s ambulance, and then the cops all cheered how they had occupied the hippie’s pottery studio, would you think it’s propaganda to discuss this in a straightforward manner? Of course not.

That’s because you’re the propaganda guy here.
