Mia Love Surges to Huge Lead in Poll, Begins Receiving Racist Pictures in Mail

Nothing drives the left nuttier than successful black Republicans. Then they show just how racist they are. Before speaking at the Republican Convention Love trailed by 15 points in polls. After her well-received speech, which was ignored by the liberal news outlets, she’s now surged to a 15-point lead, a 30-point swing in just a month.

At the time, Love was down by 15 points to six-term incumbent Rep. Jim Matheson, D-Utah, 53-38. That lead is now gone.

According to a new Public Opinion Strategies poll, Love is now beating Matheson 51-36. And Democrats are not taking Love’s blooming well.

The leftist magazine Mother Jones is now attacking Love as an “anchor baby” and police are investigating a packet of racist pictures sent to Love’s mayoral office.

Few things anger liberals more than seeing a successful immigrant adopt conservative policies and win as a Republican. That is why the liberal noise machine will stop at nothing to destroy Love. So far it seems Utah voters are ignoring them.

Quite clearly the angry, racist liberals cannot tolerate strong, black conservative, which is why they resort to such ugly tactics.

A packet of information sent to Mayor Mia Love‘s office that city officials described as racist launched a police investigation Tuesday.

City Manager Mark Christensen described the contents of the thick envelope as “disturbing” and “pretty creepy stuff.” He said it included a picture of Love and her husband, Jason, and a hooded Ku Klux Klan character. There also were pictures of aborted fetuses, he said.

“I couldn’t tell if it was threatening or anything. It kind of shocked me, what I saw,” he said.

Christensen said the city has received others mailings aimed at Love but nothing like the one that arrived Tuesday. He said he turned it over to the police department.

Saratoga Springs Police Chief Gary Hicken said he assigned an officer to investigate.

“I can say it’s racial in nature but I can’t tell you it’s criminal in nature,” he said.

You can almost guarantee the left will claim she sent them to herself. This is how they operate. Why such fear?

Love said she believes she’s a target because she poses a problem to the policies of the Obama administration. She said the threats are meant to divert her from the issues in the race.

So the Democrats, party of the KKK, Jim Crow and segregation is back in action. Saddening, but not surprising.

  2. Tulsa Jack on 26/26/12 at 10:16 am

All that the hateful, racist attacks on Mia Love by the KKK Branch of the Democrat Party — actually not a branch but the Donks’ contemptible core — will do is inspire greater Republican support for this rising conservative star. Go Mia! Another contribution is on its way.

  3. Dano on 26/26/12 at 10:28 am

What information do you have that indicates drrrty lib’rullllls sent this envelope?

Unhinged speculation is not information, BTW.

So, since she is a Republican, this will not be headline news on any of the MSM. No Sissy Matthews crying, no Ed Schultz sphewing the hate on the right side? Nope won’t happen and won’t be considered a hate crime.

I hope Mia Love wins by a major landslide! I want to see heads explode!

  5. MT Geoff on 26/26/12 at 11:14 am

    1. The racist mail may have come from white racists, from liberals of any stripe, or it could be a put-up job. Liberal racists — liberals who think they “own” “black issues” — are the most likely but Dano is right to say that it’s only speculation.
    2. Mother Jones is fishy on the term “anchor baby”. An “anchor baby” is usually one who is born to illegal immigrants in order to give them a claim to remain in the US. Ms. Love’s parents were legally in the US, although I don’t know their exact status. Ms. Love’s birth may have brought the family into compliance with a specific law applicable at the time and one could stretch the term “anchor baby” but it is a stretch.
    3. I don’t know if Ms. Love’s parents are immigrants who embraced conservative views. I imagine they are. Ms. Love herself is a born citizen of the US rather than being an immigrant.

I realize that when someone starts a blog post with Nothing drives the left nuttier than successful black Republicans, and blatantly misstating the purpose of an article, we are likely dealing with a low-validity environment.

But it should give sane people pause that these allegations are being attributed to a-n-yone without supporting evidence. This is utterly basic. Foamers are gonna foam, but let’s see something other than baseless and evidenceless assertions, ‘k?

Ya mean like the anti- MO video that caused the dear leader to blame it for the ills in this world? How much base and evidence existed for that witch hunt?

It appears from following your link that Mother Jones is saying Love is “what the GOP calls an ‘anchor baby’ ” — in other words, that under the rules she’s advocating, she’d be deported along with them, and that she benefits from the rules she’s trying to abolish. This is pointing out hypocrisy, not calling names.

  9. Blue Hen on 26/26/12 at 12:52 pm

she benefits from the rules she’s trying to abolish. This is pointing out hypocrisy, not calling names.

    Geepers, that sounds serious.

Is that like your kids getting pizza when the kids of the peasants are told that they can’t have any?

Or is is like telling peasants that you’ve “made too much money” and then proceed to claim in deductions thre times what the average family makes?
Or is it like vilifying the military for “bombing villages and stuff” and then bragging about picking drone strikes?

    Do tell.

Ya mean like the anti- MO video that caused the dear leader to blame it for the ills in this world? How much base and evidence existed for that witch hunt?

    No.

The topic is evidence that drrrty librulllls sent hate mail to Mia Love. The blog post author chose the topic. And wrote the headline with the topic included.

  11. Blue Hen on 26/26/12 at 1:16 pm

The topic is charges by politicians and their partisans. Ya want to adhere to lofty standards of evidence? Fine. Be a good little leftist and do the progressive thing. Let’s see you and yours try that. The tea party would be thrilled. obama is STILL blaming the video without a shred of evidence, and after the Libyan president said repeatedly that the video had nothing to do with it.

Better yet. Pelosi and some of her cronies claimed that they encountered racial epithets when they did the victory lap for obamacare. No proof and no retraction two years later.

You’re not interested in standards of behavior. You want to do and say what you want, when you want without let or hindrance.

  12. Dano on 26/26/12 at 1:32 pm

Blue hen has no evidence, so the standard poo flinging and subject-changing ensues.

Does anyone have evidence for the claim in this post? Anyone?

So somebody sends a black female Republican racist hate mail and pictures of aborted fetuses, and the knee-jerk reaction is that it must be a liberal? It’s far, far more likely that it’s a racist, pro-life conservative who isn’t pleased to see a black woman doing so well in his party.

  14. Blue Hen on 26/26/12 at 2:07 pm

It’s far, far more likely that it’s a racist, pro-life conservative who isn’t pleased to see a black woman doing so well in his party.

Heh. Let’s see…..Who has a longer track record of hating black people and acting upon that hatred? Is it:

    1. pro-life conservatives? Examples:
    2. The party of the Klan? Examples: (Sen. Robert ‘Sheets’ Byrd)

That’s a toughie.Which is more likely? Please provide examples to support this gem of yours.

  15. Blue Hen on 26/26/12 at 2:08 pm

Dano wants evidence from a blogger, ignores the president of the United States hauling off people in the middle of the night for political stunts and refers to that as “poo”.

    Toodles.

    Howdy Dano
Our Host has not attributed the mailing to anyone. JWF has noted that liberals do react even more strongly to a conservative from the groups they believe they own and Ms. Love is a trifecta: the child of struggling immigrants, a woman and of (distant) African ancestry.
Commentors have suggested that yes, such hate material is more likely to come from offended liberals than from racist conservatives. That’s a valid first guess that will be proven or disproven, I hope, under investigation. The first thought on the OKC bombing was Islamists — which proved incorrect and was shown to be a mistake.
    Howdy mew
I’m sure there are male chauvinists and racists among conservatives and yes, one of them might have sent such a package. But there are few of them, in spite of what you may believe, and mostly they keep their heads down. The offended-liberal remains far more probable. Liberals have a much uglier track record of offensive behavior over the last 20 years or more.

  17. MT Geoff on 26/26/12 at 2:16 pm

    F/Up to Kip Won
Ms. Love’s parents arrived legally. There is all the difference that matters. Most Americans who are worried about illegal immigrants are happy to see legal immigrants.
Ms. Love’s parents (I don’t know the name) may have used her birth as part of their immigration package and to help re-unite the family. That’s different from coming illegally in the first place and then using a baby born in the US to maintain your illegal status.

  18. Dano on 26/26/12 at 2:20 pm

Our Host has not attributed the mailing to anyone.

Trying to gin up anger by inflammatory language doesn’t make the baseless assertion true. None of these tactics work, except on the foamers who are willing consumers of these tactics.

So the point remains: no one has any evidence for these scurrilous and mendacious assertions.

What’s in it for you to hand-wave away from these facts and make clearly false assertions?

Nothing but? Tsk. All generalizations are wrong.

Your dear leader uses a lesser standard, and he can whistle up police in the middle of the night. It’s interesting that you comment repeatedly, in the interests of Journolism no doubt, but you want to question my motives.

If this is such a terrible post, why sully yourself with it? Are you bringing enlightenment to the peasantry perhaps?

  22. Dano on 26/26/12 at 4:50 pm

Nothing but? …but you want to question my motives.

    uh-huh.

    Golly – when someone:

o blatantly makes up things about what I wrote,
    o changes the subject,
    o mischaracterizes,
    o makes false equivalencies,
o and now tries widdle semantic games,

it is human nature to question the motives behind these tactics.

It is safe to say almost every single person on this planet would wonder why obvious tactics like that are trotted out, yeah.

Almost all of those would conclude the person using such tactics is hiding something. We’ve all seen these tactics before. 7 billion people can see it.

That is: you ain’t foolin’ nooooo-body.

    chuckle

There is exactly zero evidence for the baseless assertions in this blog post. No amount of hand-flapping can hide that

Our Host opens the possibility that liberal racists sent the package but does not say they did.
Our host — I’ve always assumed our host is a gentleman but I’m not certain, since a woman could wear pj’s and be a fool — then says that liberal racists are especially mad at a person who defies their reservation mentality, which is true. A person who held Herman Cain’s views but happened to be white would be a Koch brother and would be pilloried, but less than Mr. Cain was. A person who held Ms. Palin’s views, but was male, would be pilloried but less than Ms. Palin is. A person who was both white and male, and who held Ms. Love’s views, would be pilloried a LOT less than Ms. Love. Throw in the child-of-poor-immigrant and we’re back to the trifecta of liberal betrayal.
Which is why people like me will so enjoy Ms. Love blowing up liberal stereotypes, especially if she wins. Schadenfreude. I confess it.
It’s interesting that the only two Republican members of Congress that happen to be black are from districts where most voters are white. Apparently people like me are such racists that we will vote for — the candidate who represents our views rather than our skin. H’m.

    Howdy MT Geoff:

Well, I reckon that if this passage from The Host:

Quite clearly the angry, racist liberals cannot tolerate strong, black conservative, which is why they resort to such ugly tactics.

A packet of information sent to Mayor Mia Love‘s office that city officials described as racist launched a police investigation Tuesday.

ain’t actually “saying” them thar drrrry lib’rullllllz did send the package, then the two passages being in such close proximity to each other makes the phrase “fallacy of ‘guilty by association'” one of the most appropriate phrases in the history of the world.

Albeit surely the tactic is pushed so far to the knife edge of “insinuation” and over to “outright sayin’ ” that the phrase is overbalanced, windmilling its arms backward, and likely to undergo – without immediate intervention – a faceplant into the chalk-white dust of ‘saying’.

So’s I reckon at this point – taking the host at their word – these are not baseless insinuations but instead baseless guilt by association fallacies.

The rest of your word salad needs no comment, as anyone can see it for what is.

I don’t suppose that it has occurred to anyone that this might be a Karl Rove-style false flag operation.

  27. mew on 26/26/12 at 6:50 pm

So it must be a liberal because…Robert Byrd? Come on. That’s just nonsense. Tell me how many times you’ve seen a liberal distributing pictures of aborted fetuses? Those people marching outside the free clinic with placards showing photos of aborted fetuses? They’re not liberals.

Now tell me how many liberals you’ve heard of who have sent racist hate mail to political figures. You might be able to dig deep into the google and find one or two (maybe). When I google “racist e-mail” or “racist hate mail” I get hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hits linking to stories of Republicans and right wing conservatives being racist idiots.

Now tell me again who the most likely culprit is here?

I don’t suppose that it has occurred to anyone that this might be a Karl Rove-style false flag operation.

King Karl is likely going down-ballot soon as he’ll cut his losses with Rmoney, and may put more money in this one. Surely he’s had enough practice to cover up any tracks if so.

Nevertheless, indignant umbrage on right-sympathetic blogs would be a component of any false/black flag operation.

Nice. demonstrators outside of abortion clinics are now the mailers of the hate mail? Dano will never forgive you for that leap of faith.

Now tell me how many liberals you’ve heard of who have sent racist hate mail to political figures.

Ask Allen West. Ask Condi Rice. She was attacked by celebrities like Harry Belafonte.

This seems to have struck a nerve. But then, the left has been feverishly playing the race card for years now, and such attacks don’t fit the narrative.

    Yer a hoot son.

Look: you may want to take a rhetoric class. You need it. You need to break out of that weak, transparent, predictable pattern that I outlined above:

o blatantly makes up things about what [someone writes],
    o changes the subject,
    o mischaracterizes,
    o makes false equivalencies,
o and now tries widdle semantic games,

And just wait to see the comical hand-flapping when someone brings up the fact that The Vaunted Host is trumpeting to high heaven an internal poll as if it is written on two stone tablets from a cloud! instead of an internal poll from a candidate looking for play.

You want to ignore racism from the left and hold a blog to a higher standard than the current president. That’s what makes you happy and explosives won’t shift you.
