He thinks you’re stupid, so expect him to come out and call for an investigation into “Big Oil” companies or some such nonsense. Maybe he’ll require them to pay their fair share. So just remember, when you’re paying six bucks a gallon pretty soon, he’s on your side.
President Barack Obama will talk about ways to expand oil and gas production and how to decrease the dependence on foreign oil in a speech at the University of Miami Thursday afternoon, the White House said.
Obama’s speech in Florida comes at a time when gas prices are soaring around the nation. Gas prices rose 3.3 cents nationwide overnight to $3.61 a gallon, according to AAA.
“The president clearly understands the impact that high gas prices have on middle class families, but unlike some, he isn’t interested in engaging in false debates and phony promises,” a senior administration official said.
Yeah, like those phony promises and false debates that if we had just drilled in ANWR ten years ago, we’d pretty much be independent of foreign oil.
Remember that phony debate?
“We could start drilling in ANWR today, and at its peak, which would be more than a decade from now, it would give us enough oil to take care of our transportation needs for about a month.” — Senator Barack Obama, February 28, 2006.
But enough about phony debates from six years ago, now Obama is serious, damn it! Especially since he’ll be tossed out of office if gas prices keep surging while he does nothing.
