Juan Williams: Fast and Furious Investigation a “Monstrous Witch Hunt” or Something

Posted by on May 14, 2012 at 8:19 am

I think Juan Williams needs to put the crack pipe down and start dealing with reality. Several years into an investigation that has resulted in hundreds of deaths in Mexico–not to mention the murder of Brian Terry–thanks to Eric Holder’s gun-running scheme, and now we’re told it’s not only a witch hunt, but a monstrous witch hunt.

But Issa — like Captain Ahab in his sinking ship — continues to go farther out, beyond the limits of rigorous oversight. He is now in uncharted waters where Democrats are charging that Issa, lacking evidence of wrongdoing, is hauling on board rumors and innuendo in a purely political attempt to defame Holder and hurt the president.

Leading Democrats are now openly saying that Issa’s investigation has nothing to do with guns crossing the border and everything to do with Issa’s political desire to destroy Holder.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the top Democrat on the Oversight committee, asserts that Issa’s effort has degenerated into an “election–year witch hunt against the Obama administration.” Note that Cummings did not say Issa is after the truth of Fast and Furious. He is instead charging that Issa wants to reel in Holder to get Obama.

The Democrats note that “gun-walking” operations began under President George W. Bush in 2006. The first plan, called “Operation Wide Receiver,” resulted in hundreds of guns ending up in the hands of suspected arms dealers and some reaching Mexico. The scheme was plotted in response to criticism that the federal government was doing nothing to stop gun trafficking to Mexico. Republicans in Congress did not raise concerns about the Bush program, even after the initial slip-up.

Issa is also exposing his committee to the possibility of a racial backlash.

The most influential civil rights group in Washington, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, charged in a May 7 letter to Issa that he is pursuing “a rush to judgment intended to create a stain on the office of the Attorney General.”

The letter continued: “The development is particularly disturbing because of the exemplary job the Attorney General has done in enforcing the nation’s civil rights.”

So as with everything with the left, it all comes down to race. No surprise there.

“The development is particularly disturbing because of the exemplary job the Attorney General has done in enforcing the nation’s civil rights.”

This right here tells you what you need to know. “He protected the black panthers, so we won’t tolerate him being questioned”.

Well, he’s a democrat, so he’s as big a shill as there is. That being said, he’s also judging this SOLELY ON THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN, so I contend he’s a racist as well.

Obama and Holder lied, people are dying. Live with that, Juan. You may think Bush has blood on his hands for Iraq and Afghanistan, but he had Senate approval for that. Obama and Holder licensed the drug cartels to MURDER hundreds. Not sure they had ANY approval for that.

It wouldn’t be an election year witch hunt if Holder had complied last year and not given blacked out pieces of paper, not to mention out-right lying to the committee.

One question for those trying to defend the Justice Department’s actions in Fast and Furious:

Would you be willing for the government to come into any of the large, Democrat controlled cities (and I’ll include NYC in this category despite what Bloomberg calls himself) and hand out a couple hundred AK-47s or AR-15s to street gangs so the Feds can follow their use?

If your answer is “No,” then how can you accept the Feds doing just that with drug gangs in Mexico?

Quoting The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights…”The development is particularly disturbing because of the exemplary job the Attorney General has done in enforcing the nation’s civil rights.”

Yeah, like the time when the AG swept the New Black Panther incident (in which a couple of punks stood outside a polling place intimidating white voters) under the rug. That’s a great example of Holder’s “exemplary” actions. Good thing we have people like him standing against those wascally Webublicans.

Williams has always been an IQ lightweight, but this is a really egregious example of his depth of dumb.

“.. no evidence of any wrong doing…” – are you really that uninformed or just that deep in the tank for Obysmal? Good grief.

that was a great post. I’ll have to remember that bit about handing out weapons in ‘your town’ the next time I run into a libtard trying to cover up with a ‘so what’ response

Even better. Ask all the idiot politicians who grandstanded about the gun maker lawsuits how they feel about all of these weapons being greenlighted across the border.

So, if “Bush did it too”, why didn’t anyone in the media or the Democrat party call him out on it in 2006? Oh right, they were in charge of the funding for it. Tell me, Former Speaker Pelosi, why did you let the Bush administration AND the Obama administration run guns into Mexico and how many people died because of your inaction over 4 years?

The “Bush did it” excuse doesn’t hold water folks.

Oh yeah, the Mexican government was involved as well. When “Bush did it”.

Why, exactly, did any conservative go out on a limb for a tool like Williams. Just because his own side turned on him was no reason for those on the right to give him a pat on the back. He’s the proverbial scorpion.
