Al Gore became an instant national laughingstock when he surmised the ass-kicking Mitt Romney administered to Obama was a result of Obama feeling woozy at high altitude. Apparently Obama’s debate prep partner feels the same way.
Speaking of debates, the senator has been in the news lately for portraying Republican Gov. Mitt Romney in President Barack Obama’s debate preparations.
Asked whether it surprised him that Obama gave such a lackluster performance in his first debate with Romney, Kerry said, “He knows he had a bad night. He just had a bad night. … I personally really do believe that the altitude may have had something to do with it.” That debate took place in Denver.
“I also think he wasn’t settled in his own mind completely on his own strategy,” Kerry said. “And I think that held him back. I was surprised, obviously. I thought we had a terrific night the night before when we went through it all and everybody was a little surprised, and he was surprised. But look at what he did. He came back and he won both [subsequent debates] convincingly and he won the last one more convincingly than Romney won [the first] one.”
I think the altitude is getting to Kerry as well.
