It’s quite obvious the “Muslim world” needs no reason to go bonkers and the canard that a YouTube video is responsible is preposterous. But the media keeps using that as an excuse even though the “rage” has now spread to German and British embassies.
Sudan’s police force used tear gas on Friday in a bid to stop more than 5,000 demonstrators from storming the German and British embassies, but some protesters still made it through the gates of the German embassy.
Protestors threw stones at the two neighboring embassies in Khartoum before they stormed the main gates of the German embassy. They attacked its facade and tore down the flag, replacing it with a black Islamic one before setting fire to the building, one witness said.
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle confirmed the attack on Friday but said that the embassy’s staff is safe.
He also said Sudan’s ambassador in Berlin had been summoned and reminded “in no uncertain terms of the duty of his government to protect diplomatic institutions.”
Due to similar protests and attacks at American embassies and consulates that started earlier this week, Germany had already raised security levels at its foreign diplomatic posts on Friday.
Well, at least they’re giving their people warning, unlike the incompetents at State and in the White House.
Meanwhile, those frisky Afghans, who never need a reason to protest, thanked us for freeing them from the Taliban. Well, not really.
Hundreds of Afghans — some shouting “Death to America” — have held a protest against an anti-Islam film in the eastern city of Jalalabad.
More than 2,000 Islamists demonstrated in Amman on Friday to condemn an anti-Islam film, as the Jordanian government demanded YouTube remove trailers for the movie posted on its website.Amid heavy security, some 400 Salafist jihadists demonstrated near the US embassy carrying black flags with the message: “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger”.
“Listen (US President Barack) Obama, all of us are Osama (bin Laden),” they chanted, referring to the slain leader of Al-Qaeda.
“We sacrifice our soul and blood for the prophet,” they said as they torched US flags.
In Obama’s former homeland they also called for the death of America and Jews.
In Jakarta, about 200 Indonesians showed their anger over the anti-Islam film Friday by chanting “death to Jews!” and “death to America!” in a largely peaceful protest outside the heavily guarded U.S. Embassy.
They waved black flags and held signs that read “America has to be responsible for Islamophobia worldwide” as they marched in the capital of the world’s most populous Muslim nation.
“We came here because we want the U.S. to punish whoever was involved with the film,” protester Abdul Jabar Umam said. “They should know that we are willing to die to defend the honor of our Prophet.”
About 20 protesters outside the U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur shouted “Allahu akbar!” and handed reporters a letter addressed to the American ambassador in Malaysia that expressed their anger over the movie and called for greater respect for religions.
Indonesia’s government has been working to block access to clips of the film online, and a prominent cleric has urged calm. But others are calling for Muslims worldwide to defend the dignity of the Prophet Muhammad.
Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia, a branch of the international network that advocates a worldwide Islamic state and the ones who organized the protest, on its website blamed the U.S. government for allowing the film to be produced and released, calling it “an act of barbarism that cannot go unpunished.”
“Why do these people seek problems by disturbing our peace? They knew the risk they were facing by angering people,” said Muhammad Al-Khaththath, leader of another hardliner group. “There’s only one way to stop our anger: Give the death penalty to the filmmaker and the actors.”
Ironically, some Americans think the film makers should be charged with murder. Yes, really.
In the meantime, we may have discovered a new Islamic Rage Boy.
