“Initial Success or Total Failure”

Some admiral in the Navy has ordained that an unofficial motto which adorns the walls of the classrooms at the EOD (Explosive Ordance Disposal) school in Florida be removed. Screw espirit de corp. Not interested in your morale issues bud. His reasons of course is how it will appear to those outside of the military community.

Officials said the admiral is especially concerned about the hundreds of family members who visit the school each spring for a memorial to military bomb technicians who have died in the line of duty the previous year.

I would think this is not the first time these family members had been exposed that particular slogan. You know just maybe it had been uttered by their family member in a visit home, or a phone call, or a letter. Every branch has their particular brand of ‘gallows humor’ to go along with their occupation. In the Infantry we often referred to ourselves as Bullet Catchers.

He may order it washed from the walls but I am pretty sure it won’t leave their lips and anybody who would take offense at it is also the same person who probably wouldn’t understand why somebody would want to do the job to start with.

Total failure. The generals in the canuck military quickly learned the hardway when their vehicles started ‘malfunctioning’ when they tried pulling that shit. And that the shit diggers(mechanics) were already backlogged for 5 or 7 days doing emergency repairs to well…anything else that people could come up for them. Which they did happily.
