Holder deal on gun flap

Attorney General Eric Holder has agreed to provide more information to House investigators probing the “Fast and Furious” gun-smuggling program — thus heading off an embarrassing committee vote holding him in contempt, a leading congressional Democrat said yesterday.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said that GOP panel leaders, who had scheduled a vote for tomorrow, had taken off the table their demands for documents that Holder contends he is prohibited by law from turning over.

In return, Holder has offered records that he has so far withheld from the committee, Cummings said.

    What a difference a few days makes. From “Sure, we can provide those documents” to “Go Fish”

    I don’t know about Congress holding Holder in contempt, but most of the US does….
