Hero of the ‘99%’ Now Pimping $245 Sneakers

Remember when this imbecile, along with co-imbecile Russell Simmons, showed up at the Occupy Wall Street temper tantrum last fall showing their solidarity with the fringe-left masses? Well, later we discovered Simmons himself was exploiting the idiots to push high-fee credit cards and now along comes Kanye West selling  grossly overpriced sneakers urban youths, some of whom will probably wind up dead for wearing them.

New York gals might love their Manolos, but some guys will sleep in the streets for a week for a pair of Air Yeezy 2s.

Sneaker mania hit the city yesterday as the limited, $245 Kanye West design flew off a select few shelves.

“It’s been an experience,” said Francisco Torres, 33, of Harlem, who was first in line at Jimmy Jazz, on 125th Street, after camping out there since last Sunday.

“I actually got passes to New York Sports Club, up the street, and I’d go and take showers every morning and then come back to the line,” he said — adding that he planned to resell the sneakers online

They were fetching up to $6,000 yesterday on eBay.

I’m surprised his buddy Obama isn’t pointing out that the economy is going gangbusters since people can afford $6,000 kicks.

But wearing these could pose a health hazard.

“I’m going to wait until some of the heat dies down before I put them on,” said Jimmy Works, 23 — who drove up from Baltimore to the Nike store in SoHo.

Another buyer demanded anonymity for fear someone in his neighborhood might find out he owned a pair and try to rob him.

Are Kayne West sneakers — the Air Yeezys — really worth risking your life?

So. Where is obama to complain about speculators and big oil (sneakers are made with petroleum producats)?
