Heh: Romney Holds Campaign Event Outside Solyndra HQ

Posted by on May 31, 2012 at 1:57 pm

As the Obama campaign implodes with today’s disastrous David Axelrod fiasco in Boston, Mitt Romney pulled out a sledgehammer and whacked Obama with a well-placed photo-op outside Solyndra HQ, highlighting Obama’s disastrous green energy scam.

Well played, Mitt.

Mitt Romney arrived at the shuttered headquarters of Solyndra Inc. this morning, a surprise visit that was shrouded in secrecy and part of the presumptive GOP presidential candidate’s attack on President Obama’s record on jobs creation.

“The reason for keeping it quiet is because we knew if word got out that Solyndra would do everything in their power and the Obama administration would do everything in their power to stop us from having this news conference,” an aide said in a briefing en route. “But taxpayers made a substantial investment in Solyndra, there are serious questions about what happened at Solyndra, why that investment was selected, what happened to that money.”

Solyndra is the failed California-based solar technology company that received more than $500 million in federal stimulus money before it went bankrupt last year. It has since become a mantle of Romney’s argument that Obama doesn’t know how to run the economy.

It’s pretty obvious Obama couldn’t run a lemonade stand at this point.

Well played indeed. Between this and the Romney supporters confronting Axelrod in Boston. I’m actually feeling a little better about GOP chances in November.

Photo Op outside of Solyandra, AND playing hardball in Taxachoositz!?! This sure ain’t the McCain campiagn of 2008.

Suggestion: Romney and Brown should take in a Red Sox game at Fenway if the Cleveland Indians play, and save a seat for Princess Running Joke.

Some local color: That’s Mission Peak in the background. Romney’s mission today was to point out Obama’s incoherence on capital and capitalism.

    Heh indeed!

If Team Romney can now tie the imploded economy to the Demoncrats ascension in ’06 for the win? In order to counter the O’s contension that Mitts wants to go back to the same ol Bush policies that failed etc of course.

Cuz ya know the Chi-tugo way vis a vie the W portrait unveiling…

Cool. I was wondering when someone would figure out that the giant SOLYNDRA logo on the fancy new building facing Interstate 880 (the main highway between Oakland and the South Bay) was a campaign ad just begging someone to show up with a camera.

This is absolutely, toothsomely delicious. It seems as if the Breitbart lessons have been learned at last.

Only massive vote fraud on a truly epic scale can stop us now!

Obama may have hosted Dylan, but it’s Romney that has the stones. I’m pleasantly surprised by the competency of his campaign so far in staying on message and one-upping Obama.

Every time we drive by the huge sign and empty plant, I bore my kids telling them it’s like a 24 hr a day 40 acre ad against DumBHO. I am surprised they haven’t stripped the signage. Romney should offer to buy the BIG sign as a way to help the taxpayer recoup a little bit. Make fun of the stupidest genius of our time. We have been affirmative actioned into wholesale looting of the commonweal.
