Heartwarming Story of the Day: Teen Mom Blows Away Intruder After Getting Green Light From 911 Operator

Probably won’t be long until the Justice Department comes after her. She should be given an NRA Lifetime Achievement Award for her bravery and shooting skills.

A young Oklahoma mother shot and killed an intruder to protect her 3-month-old baby on New Year’s Eve, less than a week after the baby’s father died of cancer.

Sarah McKinley says that a week earlier a man named Justin Martin dropped by on the day of her husband’s funeral, claiming that he was a neighbor who wanted to say hello. The 18-year-old Oklahoma City area woman did not let him into her home that day.

On New Year’s Eve Martin returned with another man, Dustin Stewart, and this time was armed with a 12-inch hunting knife. The two soon began trying to break into McKinley’s home.

As one of the men was going from door to door outside her home trying to gain entry, McKinley called 911 and grabbed her 12-gauge shotgun.

McKinley told ABC News Oklahoma City affiliate KOCO that she quickly got her 12 gauge, went into her bedroom and got a pistol, put the bottle in the baby’s mouth and called 911.

“I’ve got two guns in my hand — is it okay to shoot him if he comes in this door?” the young mother asked the 911 dispatcher. “I’m here by myself with my infant baby, can I please get a dispatcher out here immediately?”

The 911 dispatcher confirmed with McKinley that the doors to her home were locked as she asked again if it was okay to shoot the intruder if he were to come through her door.

“I can’t tell you that you can do that but you do what you have to do to protect your baby,” the dispatcher told her. McKinley was on the phone with 911 for a total of 21 minutes.

When Martin kicked in the door and came after her with the knife, the teen mom shot and killed the 24-year-old. Police are calling the shooting justified.

Here’s a video clip. Unfortunately, we don’t have one of the actual shooting.

This is an awesome story on so many levels. Young mother protects herself and baby. Evil bastard goes to hell. A true story of empowerment and justice.

I thank God that I do not have the capacity to understand how a human could conceive such a truly despicable plan upon a grieving young widow with an infant child. And I thank God that she had the strength and presence of mind, and ended him.

Sorry to post a second time. But did anyone else notice that she was on the phone with the dispatcher for 21 minutes before she fired the shot(s)? And the police had not yet arrived? Where the hell were they?!

This story is a poster child for the Second Amendment. And a rude reminder that the police won’t always be there to help you.

    Mom’s “To Do” list:

    Pick up shotgun and pistol
    Feed baby
    Call 911
    Shoot scumbag

    Mom of the Year

Probably not the first time this scumbag had done/tried something like this. Good thing this hero-mom made it the last time. God bless her.

The intruders were after the drugs in the home. Cancer patient dies. These intruders troll the obituraries for recent deaths. They presume there will be cancer treatment drugs in the home.

Arming yourself is going to be the only way to stop these zombie junkies from breaking into your place.

Did anyone else notice that the dispatcher said it was OK for Sarah to” do what you have to do”… to protect the baby, but not herself?

Jokin, you must be joking if you think that’s significant. We don’t know the sex of the dispatcher, but if it was a woman, given that our heroine had said she was home alone WITH HER BABY, it’s pretty ordinary that both of them would be thinking first of the child. And I daresay a man would focus on the same thing.

Clearly our heroine could take care of herself, protect herself, but her baby was helpless.

One difference between her and me: I’d have plugged the son of a bitch with the entire contents of the magazine from my .380, THEN called 911.
