Heartbreaking: Obama’s “Cash-Strapped” Campaign May Have to Foot Portion of Convention Tab

Look, I realize the Washington Post is in bed with the failed president, but really, do they have to call this walking ATM machine cash-strapped? The guy has spent most of his term jet-setting around on our dime raising money for himself, but now that he’s being lapped by Mitt Romney his boys at the WaPo have to make believe the guy is struggling financially.

It’s obviously part of their strategy at the WaPo/Obama HQ: Make Romney look like some evil robber baron and Obama a hero of the middle class. It’s laughable, but here they go again.

Noting how badly the Democrats have done trying to scrounge up money for their convention, fingers are being pointed and poor Obama being made the victim. Hey, dopes, maybe they’re having problems raising money because of Obama.

Has anyone thought of that?

Convention officials declined to comment on fundraising specifics beyond saying that fundraising is “on track.”

But several people familiar with the internal discussions say the host committee has raised about $20 million, about $16 million short of the goal for convention expenses. If the rest is not raised, Obama’s cash-strapped campaign might be forced to cut a large check to cover the difference.

And we can’t have that, can we? To Obama, that’s his personal piggybank. And let’s face it, his campaign has stuck the taxpayer for every nickel he spends flying around to schmooze with his Hollywood pals;  we can’t expect him to dig into his pocket now, can we?

Adding to the challenges are the restrictions established by top Obama aides prohibiting corporate cash contributions and limiting individual donations to $100,000, making it even harder to raise the money quickly — particularly when wealthy donors are also being asked with increasing aggressiveness to open their wallets to the campaign and the super PAC supporting the president.

“There’s been a frustration that [Rogers] likes the publicity but that he’s not been as good at actually doing the work,” said one person familiar with convention planning. Another person said Charlotte officials had been “counting on Jim Rogers carrying a heavy load raising the money, and that has not happened.”

At least they have their scapegoat. Ignore the obvious fact Obama has become increasingly radioactive and nobody wants to bankroll a loser. So blame Rogers.

I don’t know why they’re worried; so many people are backing out of the convention, pretty soon they’ll be able to hold it in Barney Frank’s garage.

No worries here. President purple lips will just go running to his douchebag cronies in Hollyweird and whine for some more cash. Either that or he’ll come up with another tax, er, I meant penalty.

Piss on all of em! They can hold their convention at a KOA for all I care.

Oh, that’s funny. Replace (Rogers) with (Obama) and the statement remains true.
