GOP Official: Romney Raised Over $100 Million in June

Is it any wonder that freak David Axelrod is pleading with the media to smear Mitt Romney?

A top Republican official says the Mitt Romney campaign raised over $100 million in June.

Rick Wiley, the GOP’s national political director, made the claim in a tweet sent to Obama campaign director Jim Messina and senior campaign advisor David Axelrod.

“.@Messina2012, check this out bro, we raised north of $100 million in June,” Wiley said. “I’m assuming u & Axe will need beers 2night bro.”

An email to the Romney campaign to confirm the amount has not been returned.

The $100 million includes contributions made to the Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee. The Obama campaign has not released its June fundraising numbers yet, but the eye-popping Romney figure will keep the pressure on the president to keep up.

Wiley apparently enjoys taunting his Democrat counterparts on Twitter.

Obama held about three dozen fundraisers in June, so it’s possible he may approach Romney. If not, expect another fundraising blitz, all paid for by the taxpayers.

It’s interesting to note what importance these numbers have. It’s polling of a different order. And like dramtic polling numbers, they have their own efect on future polling and funding performance.
