Gallup: Majority of Conservatives See Romney as “Acceptable”; Update: Romney Called as Winner

Posted by on Jan 10, 2012 at 5:49 pm

Well, starting tonight in New Hampshire, we’ll see how much merit this has. Hold your nose, folks.

Mitt Romney is the now the only candidate that a majority of conservative and moderate/liberal Republicans nationwide see as an “acceptable” GOP nominee for president. Conservative Republicans are more likely to say Romney would be an acceptable nominee than either Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum.

As for Newt, Rush Limbaugh unloaded on him today. And Taranto. It wasn’t pretty.

As to what we’re left with:

You can follow the vote count tonight via the Union Leader. The Google election page is here.

I’ll be so glad when this is over.

Update: As of 8 pm, Fox projects Romeny with a double-digit win.

Romney is not as conservative as I would like, but he is a thousand times better than the all knowing messiah whom now blesses us with his god like abilities, and has so effectively united all 57 states……
If Elmer Fudd gets the nomination, he will enjoy my 100% support…..

@Dookhh I totally agree. Romney has never been my favorite, I worry that he may be a little too comfortable with big government, but he will be far better than Obama.

His victory speech tonight was very good, and dare I say it, Reaganesque. He ignored his detractors and went after Barry O, that I like. He talked pretty tonight.
