This sounds like a winning strategy. Fortunate to be blown off the front pages for a few days by the Wisconsin recall and Obama’s economic cluelessness, two-bit fraud Elizabeth Warren has decided to jump into the presidential race by attacking Mitt Romney. I realize she’s not that bright at this politicis things, but has she even noticed how quickly Team Romney enjoys returning volleys?
Elizabeth Warren’s battle plan will be to turn Mitt Romney into a political albatross for his protege U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, hoping her GOP rival sinks under the weight of the former governor’s weak support in the blue Bay State.
“Now that she’s clobbered (Marisa) DeFranco, she can take on Romney — offense is always good,” said John C. Berg, a political science professor at Suffolk University, referring to the Salem immigration attorney Warren swept off the primary ballot at last week’s state Democratic convention.
Berg said Romney will be too busy in battleground states to pay attention to Massachusetts, leaving Brown to fend for himself. And, he added, “Romney will be far more conservative” than Brown in the coming months as he battles President Obama.
Warren trotted out her new strategy yesterday in Providence before a supportive crowd at a progressive rally where she came out swinging.
“Now if you have any doubt about where the Romney-Brown Republicans stand, just consider this: The Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, has said he would repeal all financial reform,” she said. “The Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, said corporations are people. No Mitt, corporations are not people. … Learn the difference.”
She added: “We don’t run this country for corporations, we run it for people.”
Who’s this “we” she speaks of?
Warren, speaking at the event with a scratchy voice, received a standing ovation from the left-leaning crowd
Warren spoke at a noontime panel sponsored by Netroots Nation regarding the so-called Republican war on women. Netroots Nation is a gathering of progressive political activists and bloggers that meets annually.
A gathering of Netroots fruit and nut is now merely “left-leaning”? Really?
