‘Experts’ Exhume Rotting Corpse of Dead Terrorist

Allegedly they’ve tested for poison. Hopefully they did an AIDS test as well.

Palestinian authorities on Tuesday opened Yasser Arafat’s grave and foreign experts took samples from his remains as part of a long-shot attempt — eight years after the iconic leader’s mysterious death — to determine whether he was poisoned, as relatives and some political successors have claimed.

The exhumation began before dawn, under the cover of huge sheets of blue tarpaulin draped over Arafat’s mausoleum in his former government compound in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

By mid-morning, the grave was reclosed, said Tawfik Tirawi, a former Palestinian intelligence chief who heads the investigation into Arafat’s death.

Arafat died in November 2004 at a French military hospital, a month after suddenly falling ill at his Ramallah compound, which was at the time besieged by Israeli troops. The immediate cause of death was a stroke, but the underlying reasons were unclear, leading to widespread belief in the Arab world that Israel poisoned the 75-year-old symbol of Palestinian nationalism.

Yasser Arafat was a ghastly murderer and a tyrant. There’s no need to add the idea that he was homosexual to make him evil and being homosexual would not make him more or less evil. Being homosexual and living as a homosexual is just an element of a few people’s lives and I refuse to accept that it is evil or perverted.
Homosexual activity would add an element of hypocrisy to Arafat’s resume as a disgusting person, since he claimed to be a good Moslem, but that’s all.
This long after Arafat’s death, it’s a dim chance that we’ll learn anything useful about his death. Men in their mid-70s die of age-related illnesses all the time. His more ardent followers will believe that Israel murdered him regardless of medical evidence.

Who the hell is implying this…other than you?

Rock Hudson died of AIDS and no one called him “evil.” Ever get dizzy on that high horse?

My experience is that people rarely implicate AIDS without implicating homosexuality and they rarely implicate homosexuality linked to AIDS this way as a compliment.
If either ccoffer or Phelps would like to explain why AIDS is a particularly likely cause of death, or how the remark was NOT meant as a slur, I’m ready to hear it. Of course they (and you) are under no obligation to me.
When Rock Hudson died of AIDS and his homosexuality became public conversation, both the mode of his death and his homosexuality were viewed with disgust by many.
Dizzy on a high horse? No, I don’t consider myself to be on a high horse. I am opposed to terms like “muzzie”, “kike”, “bread-eater”, and others that are meant to slur entire classes of people. I would prefer to think we are all on that level and that it’s not an elevated level at all.

The “foreign experts” would never announce Arafat died of AIDS, even if their findings support it. That wouldn’t serve their purpose.

I seriously doubt the Israelis are culpable. Arafat, though a murderous, duplicitous, corrupt thug, was preferable to the alternative, as we now see.

If Nasrallah was to succumb to a sudden illness, that would be another matter entirely.

Sorry, I don’t remember this from anyone I knew at the time:

When Rock Hudson died of AIDS and his homosexuality became public conversation, both the mode of his death and his homosexuality were viewed with disgust by many.

I remember a lot of jokes but not much disgust and my then b-i-l had just come out of the closet at the time. Anyhoo, just because someone points out that Arafat might have died of AIDS, that hardly denotes disgust…unless someone else infers it that way…

I recall plenty of disgust about Rock Hudson’s death and his sexuality.
I think my point remains valid.
