Obama Worship Hits a New Low

I am totally stealing this from my buddies over at This Ain’t Hell, but what the hell. Warning for those on blood pressure medication, you might need to make sure you have taken your meds or at least be ready to beat a hasty retreat to your happy place.

The Democrats in one county are so swept up in the cult of Obama that they have replaced the stars on our national flag with the image of their Dear Supreme Leader.

After a short stand off between a group of veterans and the head of the Lake County, FL Democrat Party, an American flag that had been altered to depict an image of Barack Obama in the space where the stars are normally located was taken down.

The Lake County Democratic Headquarters in Tavares has been flying two American flags outside their office. The first an American Flag and the second the altered flag.

Liberals, get to a 12 step program stat! I have never seen this sort of hero worship in my half century of living that didn’t wind up with folks drinking poisoned Kool Aid. No man is greater then the country itself and defacing the symbol of that once great country to engage in your worship of a guy who gives good teleprompter is truly disturbing. Look, I know we are in decline, but it isn’t anything that can’t be halted and then turned around. My God, we survived Carter after all.

To the veterans of Lake County Florida, thank you for once again standing up for your country.

There’s one flag that should be burned (the second one down). But first wrap it in a koran.

Rather than one large photo of his ‘Oneness’, it seems it would be appropriate for the Lake County, FL Democrat Party flag to have 57 little photos of the ‘Praiseworthy’ little pecker head.

Just to point out how outrageous this is, not only is it in obvious violation of decency, it is also illegal. US Code Title 10, Chapter 36, Section 176:

    (g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.

    (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever.

There are no legal penalties applicable since 1989. But flag desecration remains punishable by the voters.

I don’t think I need any blood pressure medication for this, but some duct tape might be appropriate.

The deification in raising a flag symbolizing a person is something I find very disturbing.
At the risk of Godwin, do Dems pledge allegiance or seig heil?

Democrats: their ideas are so toxic that they can’t help clinging to them for dear life. Imagine the front-page outrage had any other party done this sort of thing.

Can you imagine what they would do if Palin was on that flag? (Not that she’d ever let any organization allow her photo to take the place of the field of stars!) Bammy prob’ly thinks every U.S. flag should look like the one above and takes it in stride.

As a veteran, I have a little different perspective. I say if the Lake County, FL Democrat Party want to be sycophantic idiots to an unpopular President and deface a symbol on national pride to boot, let them and let them proudly show the whole country. Hell, I’ll offer to help pay for copies of this flag to be sent to every Democrat Party headquarters in the country so there can be no question about where their priorities and loyalties lie.

    The best disinfectant is sunlight.

Seems to me, the kinds of countries that display giant pictures of their leaders everywhere and at all times, rather than their national flag, are the greatest basket-cases of tyranny and misery on the face of the globe.

Dems want to emulate them, why, exactly?

In the commission of this desecration, they didn’t even pick a good photograph of him. He looks vaguely… constipated.

Nevermind the law, this is just wrong. There are boundaries of respect that shoud never be violated, not even when facing one’s worst enemy. These guys not only stepped over it, they stopped to piss on it along the way.

And like othe rposters, I want to know what the reaction would have been if someone did this with a picture of Bush in the ’04 elections.

What’s the problem? Haven’t you troglodytes heard of the ‘living flag,’ that’s subject to revision as progressives desire?

    Democrats are loyal Americans. Generally.”

Are we sure “they” know it?

It would be great to get copies of this mess and raise it in various public places (NASCAR event, ANYPLACE on July 4th). There’s no better way to deflate the cult of personality bubble than to watch obama’s fanboys explaining where the thing came from, that it wasn’t some prop from SNL (as if) but was the serious result of some dem organization. Running it up outside CNN or MSDNC would be comedy gold.

I live in Lake County and the DEC here is more or less a non-functioning group. This is only one Democrat running for county wide office (at the time of this writing) and I will be running against her if Lake County Republicans approve of me.

What’s scary is that these days liberals think this kind of thing is ok, they just don’t get why anyone has a problem with it.

“A Republic, ma’am, if you can keep it.”

I was there yesterday. I was mentioned as a passerby in the “Daily Commercial” Actually I was there because i do a conservative talk radio show and was invited by Don Von Beck. People are asking how did that flag remain up there for 2 months? One reason is in our county the Democrat party is virtually irrelevant. You can see the intellectual lightweight that Hurlbert is. I drive by their HQ’s everyday and I had never noticed it. However if I had, Don and and his guys are the first ones i would have called. Incidentally, i had a blast on the show today talking about these goofy Dems in charge of their local party.
