Boise Police arrested Cynthia Clinkingbeard, 58, Boise, on Friday after she reportedly walked into a store at Eagle Road and Chinden Boulevard and threatened employees with a gun.
The website of the Idaho Secretary of State lists Clinkingbeard as a Democratic candidate in the May 15 primary race for the First District congressional seat.
Clinkingbeard was a doctor specializing in edocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, until the State of Idaho Board of Medicine revoked her license in 2005.
On Friday, police were called at 9:15 p.m. by employees of the store who told dispatchers a woman, later identified as Clinkingbeard, had walked into the store, made strange, threatening remarks to three employees before pulling out a handgun. The caller told dispatchers Clinkingbeard then left the store, continuing to make threats, and drove off in a car.
They described the car to dispatchers. An Ada County Sheriff deputy quickly spotted it driving south on Eagle Road. The deputy, joined by Boise and Meridian police, made a felony traffic stop. Because Clinkingbeard was reportedly armed, they closed Eagle Road in both directions for a brief time.
Clinkingbeard filed a declaration of candidacy for Idaho’s District 1 congressional seat against incumbent Rep. Raul Labrador. Prior to 2005, she was a Boise physician specializing in endocrinology. According to public records, the state Board of Medicine revoked her medical license for reasons related to mental illness.
Sounds like she’s going thru the change. Menopause can be a serious reproductive issue for aging democrat women. She was just demanding hormone therapy at gunpoint. Why this war on women?

Come on. She’s not even the nominee. Any crazy person can become a candidate for a nomination for the House. If a crazy person registered as a Republican candidate, would that say anything about the ethics of the Republican Party, or of conservatism?

Perhaps as a liberal, and therefore incapable of detecting irony, yet only capable of creating super abundance in same, she was demanding, at the point of a gun, harmony therapy…

No, of course your right. The womans action says nothing of the Democrat party,but if she were a Republician, this would be on the national news for a week. This is equal news. If you want fair you have to give fair. Did you say anything when this sort of comment was made of a Republican? I didn’t think so.
I know fundraising is sometimes hard for underdog candidates, but armed robbery seems a little desperate.
She earned a degree that entitled her to be called “doctor,” went off the deep end, and started threatening people.

It’s obvious the GOP War on Women drove her over the edge. That’s why she went into this retail outlet and started babbling about Sandra Fluke and the raw deal Lily Ledbetter got too.
