David Brock’s Far Left Hate PAC to “Target” Conservatives

Posted by on Aug 15, 2012 at 3:01 pm

I guess David Brock has a stenographer at Yahoo News.

A liberal advocacy group is launching a new initiative through its nonprofit arm that will monitor conservative outside organizations and think tanks, Yahoo News has learned.

The American Bridge 21st Century foundation, a nonprofit group, is running the the new program and operates alongside the Democratic super PAC American Bridge. The new program, called the Bridge Project, will conduct research into a nationwide network of conservative think tanks, advocacy organizations, super PACs and tea party groups. The operation is headed by David Brock, founder of the liberal media watchdog group Media Matters.

The aim is three-fold: The Bridge Project plans to operate as a source of rapid response to political ads launched by Republican-friendly outside groups, track donations to these groups from conservative donors by reviewing tax filings and other public documents, and serve as a research organization that will file regular public policy briefings.

The group, which has directed research teams to build databases on several conservative groups, will use the website BridgeProject.com to disseminate the information. The new site will regularly highlight ads from conservative groups and detailed profiles on the individual donors who fund them.

Sounds rather intimidating. I guess after enough prodding these deranged lefties will start harassing donors. Which is what these bullies want.

Of course conservatives are fair game, but in what can only be called monumental hypocrisy, these thugs are shielding their own records.

And even though American Bridge supports legislation that would force politically active nonprofits to reveal more information about their donors, the group does not release the names of its own.

It’s time a conservative group “targets” David Brock and exposes him and his donors. Two can play this game.

So it’s th eusual melange of hatred, lies, hypocrisy, cynicism, smears, jealousy, character assassination, bullying and slander.

the difference between these groups is that the “targeted groups” are obviously political groups, but they are using “social welfare” exception to IRS and SEC code to allow them operate without disclosing donors. The group in question, by difference, is not running ads or attempting to influence and election, but to expose those are. The former is not a legitimate use of the non-profit social welfare exceptions, while the later is.

    Wow…..hair-splitting on a sub-atomic level by dpmaine.

Do you actually believe that the Liberal group in question does not seek to influence elections by “exposing” and “targeting” conservative donors to the often violent and always bullying Liberal Leftists….?

    Good one.

political organizations through their donors is not political,
is not attempting to influence the outcome of elections ?

All you need to know about Brock can be found in a photo that ran with a profile of him in Esquire in the late 90s. He is shirtless, tied to a tree and aping the soulful gaze of a famous painting of the martyrdom of St Sebastian while proudly showing off a pert, erect nipple and a six pack.

The conservatives who he claims persecuted him because he was gay had pretty much bet the future of their publication on his research. Firs the let them down with an inferior book and then he stabbed them in the back. I suspect he will do the same to his new friends, too.

You care to defend the assertion that they aren’t trying to influence the election? Or are you simply going to say this because you agree with their choice of target? If your choice is the latter, don’t be surprised when we tell you to pound sand.
