Cowardly Axelrod Bails on Bill Maher

What’s the matter, Davey, feeling some heat for appearing with such a lowlife?

David Axelrod will not be appearing as a guest on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” despite reports last week that he was scheduled to do the show in the next few weeks.

“He’s not scheduled to go on at this time,” said Ben LaBolt, the press secretary for President Obama’s reelection campaign.

Maher, who donated $1 million to the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA, has increasingly become a target of right-wing attacks over the last week in response to the left’s attacks on Rush Limbaugh. Maher has come under fire for calling Sarah Palin a “c**t” during his stand-up act and a “dumb tw**t” on his HBO show, among other sexist comments.

Axelrod has used the Limbaugh affair to attack Mitt Romney, slamming him for having “essentially refused to comment on what was a really egregious set of comments by Limbaugh” and saying “he’s afraid to challenge a guy who’s the de-facto head of his party.”

With Obama in an approval ratings death plunge, expect an announcement shortly that the Democrats are returning Maher’s money. Speaking of Maher, the sage political analyst decided last night was a good time to insult an entire state of people. From his Twitter feed:

Toothless Tuesday too tight to tally! We’re gathered around the magic picture box with a bowl of grits watching the returns come in!

If that wasn’t classy enough, he later offered this gem:

Man, if #NewtGingrich was any more of an asshole #RickSantorum wld have to pray for the strength not to fuck him

My advice to Maher and the Democrats? Just keep talking.

Alex Burns of Politico has developed a bad case of Peter Jennings Syndrome, right down to accusing the voters of a “tantrum-like response” directed at Obama on gas prices.

He had this to say about voters: ‘The voters are a gaggle of Gumps: “And ‘fickle’ is a nice way of describing the voters of 2012, who appear to be wandering, confused and Forrest Gump-like through the experience of a presidential campaign. It isn’t just unclear which party’s vision they’d rather embrace; it’s entirely questionable whether the great mass of voters has even the most basic grasp of the details – or for that matter, the most elementary factual components – of the national political debate.”

welp there you have it… Democrats think they are the only enlightened people on the whole planet and think every else around them are retards. But if they are so smart why did they lose in 2010? *l*
