Clueless Obama Visits FEMA Officials

I guess after four days campaigning it’s time for another photo op to try to dupe people into thinking he gives a rat’s ass. Obviously the dire images from New York and New Jersey, not to mention the Drudge headlines, have him worried. They should.

President Barack Obama said Saturday that “there’s nothing more important than us getting this right” as he visited the headquarters of the Federal Emergency Management Agency for an update on superstorm recovery efforts before beginning a final weekend of campaigning before Election Day.

Nothing more important? Really? So why have you been out campaigning and fundraising all week except for a carefully chosen photo op with Chris Christie? Why not a single visit to any other states ravaged by Sandy?

“There’s nothing more important than us getting this right and we’re going to spend as much time, effort and energy as necessary to make sure that all the people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut know that the entire country is behind them in this difficult recovery effort. And we are going put not just 100 percent but 120 percent behind making sure that they get the resources that they need to rebuild and recover,” Obama said.

Just words.

Curiously, while he was doing this today look who sent an urgent email to me:

Jammie —

If you’re with me, then I need you right now.

In 24 hours, Democratic candidates for Congress face the final — and most important — fundraising deadline of this campaign. We can’t fall short on this one.

Donate $3 or more right now to elect a Democratic majority in Congress.

But remember, Sandy recovery is his top priority. Well, after fundraising emails.

What the hell was he doing visiting FEMA? Getting in the way and fucking up traffic again is my best guess. I live in L.A. and lord knows he’s screwed things up here on his hollywood fundraisers more times than I can remember.

And the people of the NY/NJ area ought to tar and feather his skinny ass and then run him out of town. Wasn’t he supposed to have stopped the rise of the seas and heal the planet four years ago. He even said so. Looks like it didn’t work with hurricane Sandy.

    I guess he lied… again.

Imma quote Ron Swansons pyramid of greatness on this one:

Intensity: Give 100%. 110% is impossible. Only idiots recommend that

He did not even mention PA, we had 1.3 million without power, we still have tons of people without power and heat and it is going below freezing tonight and each night for the next few days. I hope the people of our Commonwealth remind him of PA when we vote fir Romney on Tuesday.

It’s worse than you know and I’ve been screaming about it since last night.

The Army Corps of Engineers maintains a registry of pre-awarded contracts (as part of their Advanced Contracting Initiative) for resources that are ready to move in to a disaster in real time. Their Commodities Planning and Response Teams, staged all over the country, are the mechanism by which those resources ~ specifically FRESH WATER and ICE in the first stages of the disaster ~ are implemented and delivered to the disaster site. This is ALL, by mission statement, REQUESTED and CO-ORDINATED BY FEMA after a Presidential Disaster Declaration. In a miserable display of incompetency, FEMA and this administration have failed to activate those very lifesaving assets, while scrabbling for “contracts” the USACE ALREADY has in place, READY TO GO. They have merely put 2 of these teams “on alert”.

The contracts and assets are ALL in place, have ALWAYS been IN place, are STILL in place and FEMA IS OUT OF WATER?
