So PrezBo came to Atlanta to hang out with some of his homey’s and all is right in the universe. One of the entertainers last night was a guy who goes by the stage name of Cee Lo. Yeah, me too. I had never heard of the guy until he showed up on a show called “The Voice” but they say he has a Grammy and everything.
The Grammy-winner and Atlanta native flicked off the audience before asking, “Can I curse in here?” But he didn’t wait for the answer, belting out “f*** you!” Cee Lo ultimately switched to the censored “Forget You” lyrics.
Let me talk about The Voice just a little bit for those who are not familiar. I initially began watching the show because I was intrigued by the premise. The judges sit in chairs with their backs to the performers. By pushing a button the chair will swivel around and then the “coach” is given the opportunity to add that person to their team. If more then 2 turn around then the performer gets to pick. Once teams are formed the contestants must then go into head to head competition with the other members of their team to eliminate them. Eventually it does get down to a audience call in vote to pick a winner.
They have made the voting for me this year much easier. First Adam Levine from Maroon 5, another one of the judges/coaches, thought it was a good idea to publicly blast Fox News for daring to play a clip of one of his songs as bumper music. So, sorry for any members of Adam’s team but you ain’t getting my vote.
Next came an eyebrow raising moment when Cee Lo was spotted wearing a Good Conduct Medal and a Naval Aviation Warfare badge. Some veterans contacted the show and attempted to contact Cee Lo to ask him to please not wear them anymore. They received no response from either and as of last week Cee Lo was still wearing them. Once he made the jump over into politics it sealed the fate of any of his team members getting my vote.
That leaves just two teams, one headed by Blake Shelton and the other by Christina Aguilar. Blake is a country music singer married to Miranda Lambert. Ms Shelton made news recently when she started slapping Chris Brown and the Grammy’s around for allowing him to perform in the wake of Whitney Houston’s death. One of her #1 hits is “Gunpowder and Lead”. Check it out.
So folks, if you feel like showing the other side that two can play that game and you are fan of “The Voice” might I suggest when it gets time to vote to vote for Team Blake or Team Christina. I know people will say this is just punishing the contestants but you know something, with all of the exposure they are getting and contacts they are making I think they will do just fine.
In the meantime PrezBo, you keep it classy.
