Brutal: Jumbotron Proposal Fail

Damn, this is just crushing. Let this be a lesson to any clown out there thinking of proposing at a sporting event.

Dude, try a nice dinner. Or at least wait until it’s a key conference game at least.

Did your winter break not go exactly as planned?

Well imagine being this UCLA fan that proposed to his girlfriend on Dec. 23 while the Bruins were taking on Richmond at the L.A. Sports Arena (Pauley Pavilion is under renovation this season) only to get rejected.

When it was time for “Mistletoe Cam” at the game, the fan took the microphone, said “I knew I was going to do this the first day I met you” and got on one knee to pop the question. Apparently the feeling wasn’t mutual, as the girl headed for the exits and left the fan and rest of the arena in stunned silence.

Wow. I read the words “mistletoe cam” and thought it said “cameltoe, miss?”

“I knew I was going to do this the first day I met you.” He failed to mention they met last Tuesday.

Why would it be staged? What does the guy stand to gain from looking like a chump in front of thousands of people? You couldn’t pay me enough to do that.
