Black Male Guns Down “White Hispanic” With Mental Capacity of 12-Year-Old, National Media Curiously Disinterested

If you were looking for a mirror image of the Trayvon Martin incident, here you go. This happened a few days ago, but oddly enough the national media hasn’t made it into a big story. I wonder why?

Police are saying more about a shooting at a Taco Bell Tuesday night in which one man died.

They’re also identifying the victim as 29-year-old Daniel Adkins.

About 7:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man and his girlfriend ordered food at the Taco Bell drive-thru and were told to pull up while their order was prepared.

At the same time, Adkins stepped around a corner into the path of the vehicle and angry words were exchanged between he and the driver.

They got into an altercation and Adkins was shot once by the driver. He died at the scene.

The driver, a 22-year-old black male, called police but has not been arrested.

At first, the couple claimed that Adkins had a metal pipe that he swung at them — but it turns out he was holding a dog leash with his yellow lab on the other end.

Family members want that driver arrested, but he’s claiming self-defense.

“He needs to be behind bars. I’ll never see my brother again,” says sister Marina Reyes. “If he felt that my brother was threatening him, he could have easily just rolled up the window and called the cops.”

In this case the shooter’s name hasn’t been released, so at least he’s spared from Spike Lee tweeting his address. But why don’t we know his name?

Like Florida, Arizona has a stand your ground law but nobody seems interested in any comparisons.

Can you imagine the furor if a “white hispanic” gunned down a black man with the mental capacity of a 12-year-old in a state governed by Jan Brewer? Heck, Obama would take up residence for a month if he thought it could win some votes, the Justice Department would be crawling through the state and the media that has mangled the Trayvon Martin story would gladly skip town from Sanford for the latest outrageously outrageous  outrage.

Instead, we haven’t seen a single story on the national news about this story. Why is that? Where is the 911 call that NBC can manipulate to gin up the racial outage?

More from the family.

The dog, Lady, stayed by Adkins’ side until the Humane Society came. Adkins lived with his mom and dad. He’s 29, but his family says he’s mentally disabled and has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old. He didn’t drive, and walked wherever he went.

“This person is still on the loose and I don’t agree with that. So he’s saying self defense, then where’s the weapon? Where’s the pipe? They didn’t find anything on my brother,” says Reyes. “He was just too aggressive, you don’t need to go that far.”

The shooter’s name has not been released. The investigation is still ongoing.

I’ll say this for the driver: it can be really hard to know how to react to someone who is mentally disabled. It’s additionally hard to get that initial feeling of trust if the disabled guy looks Hispanic – the driver has reason to believe he might be dealing with a gangbanger.

How many times have our troops in Iraq been delayed by some “harmless” kid only to be set upon by hundreds of his fellow tribesmen…? It happens in Israel too, that Hamas loads up a retarded kid with explosives and push them toward a checkpoint.

So, back to here. We whites just worry about getting robbed and beat down by the “non Asian minorities”; blacks and Hispanics have to worry they’ll be mobbed and curbstomped as well.

Doesn’t get much more vague than “they got into an altercation.” Did the guy reach through the window of the vehicle? Did the driver get out of the vehicle? Or was it just a verbal altercation? Was the vehicle parked, or still sitting in the drive through?

The driver had to believe he was in mortal danger, depending on what they meant by altercation, I can see this one going either way. And the only way I see the media reporting on this one is if the driver gets arrested regardless of what the facts turn out to be.

Why are drive-through lanes so often intersected by pedestrian walkways situated such that the driver cannot see the pedestrian or vice-versa? I have several walking routes I take where this is a problem. As a pedestrian, I give them a wide berth. As a driver, they always make me very nervous.

How come they aren’t using a picture of the victim when he was 14 years old?

Yeah, the critical point is what was actually involved in the “altercation”, and details of Arizona’s laws.

It’s possible that, once more, “stand your ground” laws don’t apply, if Arizona’s “Castle Doctrine” law includes your car.

There was a case here in Ohio where a coked-up thug went out looking to start a fight, and picked a guy who had stopped at a gas station to fill up. When the target got into his car to drive away, the coked-up thug leaned into the open window and started throwing punches.

And got two slugs in the chest.

No charges filed against the target, and they even returned his pistol.

ben: “This is not Iraq or Israel.”

No. You’re safer in Iraq or Israel than in some parts of Phoenix.

You might want to check your grammer.

You wrote “between he and the driver” when proper English, taught to native speakers and people learning English as a second language, is that it should be “between him and the driver.”

After a preposition, you must use the oblique case of a pronoun, such as: me, him, her, us, them, you. It is NEVER correct to say “between he and she” or “Between we.” Not even people in Europe, whose third, fourth, or fifth language is English make that mistake. Please correct this, unless of course, English isn’t your native language, in which case I could maybe understand such a basic mistake.

Libs tools such as Brenda are not satisfied acting merely thought police but now are self-appointed grammar enforcers too.

Hispanic Male walking Pit Bull = Potential Threat

Hispanic Male walking Yellow Lab = No Threat

How very sad for the young man and his family, and just devastating for his sweet innocent dog. What a good dog.
If the gunman had gotten out of the car to exchange words or whatever, he would have clearly seen that his victim held a dog leash and not a pipe.
Why don’t Latinos protest this, and also protest the LYNCH MOB that was set upon George Zimmerman? I hope Hispanics will remember in November that black supremacists leftists are NOT their friends – and never have been.

Funny that Brenda thinks she is so smart as to correct what people write, but then misspells grammar. Hypocrite jackass.

Thinking outloud…the driver was in a hurry so he went to the drive-thru to order. He orders his food and is told he will have to pull forward and wait…that has happened to me and it’s irritating, so the customer might have been slightly pissed…he waits, we don’t know how long, possibly getting more steamed as time passed…a man with a dog walks in front of his car…did that happen as he was finally able to drive away?…being blocked by a pedestrian was more irritation…

My guess the driver was the aggressor.

  13. jasond on 10/10/12 at 9:08 am

I watched the video at the link. The victim was the initial aggressor, he swung his fist at the car window more than one time, he was then shot.

What’s the difference between this and Trayvon? Let’s see – Could it be that it’s been a few days, not a few weeks? Or the police actually ARE INVESTIGATING? Last but not least, this family doesn’t have a media loving attorney working to get himself and the case on national news. It is getting local news coverage which is something at least. Surely more outcry than during first week after Trayvon killing.

  15. DEK on 14/14/12 at 8:14 am

The media is “uninterested”, not “disinterested”. We want the media to be disinterested, i.e., not to have a side in the issue.

By saying that they are “disinterested” you are suggesting they are reporting the matter fairly and without bias.

What was this mentally retarded person doing out walking alone in the first place. The family should have had someone with him. Who is his payee. If they are receiveing money for his care he should have been eligible to receive a aid or something. The driver protected himself from someone who did not know how to restrain themselves. The family should be help responsible for letting this person rome the streets alone.

Nothing will be done or it will be considered racist.

Here in G’ville, FL the Saturday after the Trayvon shooting 6 blacks got out of a car and beat a white guy to permanent disfigurement yelling this is for Trayvon according to witnesses. No arrests have been made. Welcome to the new age where it is open season on whites. Get used to it.
