Have another drink, Bill.
No wonder liberal radio host Bill Press thinks the “liberal media” is a myth. In his new book, “The Obama Hate Machine,” he calls Washington Examiner columnist Tim Carney a liberal–then a conservative.
“It’s not every day I’m called a liberal in a political book, especially the same book that attacks me as a ‘right-wing journalist’ 50 pages later,” says Carney.
Press, who argues that “liberals are still a minority in the press,” lists Carney’s 2009 “Obamanomics” in his chapter on anti-Obama books, but files it under the category of “blasting Obama from the left.”
To Press and his ilk, even a single conservative voice is too many. So how did he make such a stupendous blunder when it comes to Tim Carney? Easy.
“Press has no footnotes in his book,” says Carney, “but it’s obvious that he–embarrassingly–used Think Progress as his source, because he repeated some of their factual errors in falsely suggesting the Koch’s paid me.” Carney didn’t get a dime.
