Biggest Recipient of BP Oil Money Targets Romney’s “Ties” to Oil

They think you’re stupid, and considering he stands a good chance to be re-elected, there are plenty of stupid people he hopes to bamboozle with this nonsense.

President Barack Obama’s campaign accused Republican Mitt Romney of siding with “Big Oil” in a new television ad released Monday, signaling an escalation of a general election campaign and a vigorous debate over gas prices.

“In all these fights, Mitt Romney’s stood with Big Oil – for their tax breaks, attacking higher mileage standards and renewables,” the Obama campaign said in the new ad, which marked the first time the president’s campaign has publicly attacked Romney by name and made clear it views the former Massachusetts governor as Obama’s likely opponent next fall.

Back in 2008, Barack Obama was the top recipient of donations from British Petroleum. But we’re not supposed to mention that. The AP sure won’t. It’s one big pity party for Obama.

The ads, however, show the degree to which the Obama campaign needs to defend itself against unlimited money raised by outside groups supporting Republicans. Priorities USA has struggled to compete with some of its Republican rivals, forcing Obama’s team to go on the defense and spend money on TV ads seven months before the election.

Poor thing just can’t defend himself.

“This explains why he needs to turn off AVS on his donation website……Again.”

Øbummer’s election strategy is predicated on distraction. He can’t mention his government makes more money on oil than the entire oil industry combined and he certainly can’t run on his record of Epic Fail.

That was one reason I found the BP oil spill so ironic. BP was Obamas golden boy among the oil companies. They were Beyond Petroleum, and loved green energy, and gave Obama the big bucks. Of course that didn’t stop Obama from turning on them, post spill, once they were no longer popular. It shows the futility of any big company giving money to Obama, he doesn’t stay bought, while repubs will favor free enterprise even if you dont buy them, so why not help them win.

If BP had taken a 10th the money they wasted on donations to Obama, and instead invested it in better well safety, they might not have had the disaster in the 1st place. The other oil companies didn’t have any trouble with their gulf riggs, they took care of business, instead of wasting their cash on appeasement of dems and green BS.

Another thing. How in the world is taxing oil companies more going to help lower gas prices. If anything it would raise them, as the companies pass the increased taxes onto the consumer. It basically fits Obamas world view, dont actually do anything that would really help the poor and middle class, just make sure the upper class is just as miserable, even if that makes things worse. It isn’t shared sacrifice, it is shared poverty and misery.
