He must have to bite hard when he attend those nightly fundraisers.
He really, really hates being around the wealthy.
This evening in New York City, President Obama will be fundraising with “NBA heroes,” according to his spokesman. Those “heroes” include Michael Jordan (who is also a failed baseball player), Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, and, perhaps most interestingly, Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony helped make the pro-drugs YouTube video called “Stop Snitchin.”
“Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony is featured in an underground DVD that is circulating in his hometown of Baltimore, Md,” the Denver Channel reported.
As to the idiot referenced in the headline, there’s this howler.
Obama is unusual in politics—and here Republicans make a valid point—in his apparent refusal to be awed in the presence of billionaires. Unlike the Clintons and the Romney-Ryan ticket, Obama is not a devout believer in the gospel of wealth. As a Democratic fund-raiser, quoted in the Politico e-book, says about the president, “He doesn’t understand the rich. He’s an intellectual elitist, not an economic one.”
Wait, did he say intellectual elitist?
Update: While hanging with the cool kids from the NBA tonight, our famously humble president offered this:
Of the hoop stars in the room, Pres 0bama said: it’s “very rare I come to an event where I’m like the 5th or 6th most interesting person.”
