Absentee President Misses Budget Deadline

The big news today? He likes cookies. Who’s got time for trifling issues like a budget?

The Obama administration has missed another annual budget deadline, failing to send Congress a mid-session budget review before July 16.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) confirmed Monday that the deadline for the review, due every year on that date, was not met this year.

“There will be a mid-session review and timing is still being determined,” spokeswoman Moira Mack said.

But hey, he’s got plenty of time for the important stuff. Like basketball.

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) pointed out that the mid-session review has never been delivered on time by Obama

“The Obama administration’s continued failure to meet the statutory deadline to report the midsession budget review is unacceptable for a government tumbling toward a debt crisis,” he said.

Where are the clowns whining about supply side economics and demanding higher taxes? Why are we considering raising taxes when the people who want the increased money can’t even be bothered to submit a budget?
