Video: Former CFL Stars Renew Old Grudge

Damn, the old dudes can still throw down.

What does it take for two old men to end a grudge?

Joe Kapp, 73 and a former B.C. Lion quarterback, and Angelo Mosca, 74, and a former Hamilton Tiger Cat lineman plus a pro wrestler to boot, traded punches and cane swings (of all things) at a Canadian Football League alumni luncheon held during Grey Cup week in Vancouver.

At first on reading the news stories, I thought it was a joke, a prank like in the old days of pro wrestling. But it was not.

The feud between them goes back to the 1963 Grey Cup game when Mosca hit Lion Willie Fleming out-of-bounds. That was 48 years ago and I sheepishly have to admit seeing the gross foul on television in glorious black-and-white.

After almost five decades these old men need to get along. Life’s too short for this kind of stuff. Sometimes when I do something stupid, I wonder if age really does bring wisdom. I’m sure it doesn’t for Kapp and Mosca.
