The House Judiciary Committee asked for names and all the Department of Homeland Security could give them were numbers.
Earlier this month, a subcommittee on his panel subpoenaed the Department of Homeland Security for the information, claiming it was “not acting in good faith.” It was the first subpoena issued by the committee since it came under GOP control.
The department ended up turning over documents by a Nov. 10 deadline — but Smith claimed all he received was a list of numbers.
“Instead of providing this information, all DHS gave was a list numbered 1 through 220,995. Proving the administration can count is not what we asked for,” Smith said in a statement.
The hits just keep coming from this administration and for this administration which proudly proclaims to any who still believe them to be all about transparency. Obviously they are using a different dictionary from the rest of us. If Janet Nincompoop or her employees over at DHS can’t figure the request out maybe they ought to hire some kids whose previous employment included working the fast food drive thru window.
Just like Eric Holder over at Department of Justice this is nothing more then stonewalling to cover up their ineptitude. In Eric Holders’ case there are bodies to go along with his actions. Is Janet afraid the same thing will come up in relation to honestly fulfilling this request from Congress?
