The man’s got his priorities.
President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to board the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego Bay Friday to watch North Carolina face Michigan State in the inaugural Carrier Classic college basketball game.
The game is set to begin just after 4 p.m. on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier from which terrorist leader Osama bin Laden’s body was tossed into the Arabian Sea.
Around 7,000 members of the armed services will view the game from grandstands built on the flight deck. A concert featuring the musical acts Five For Fighting, Billy Currington and Navy vet B. Taylor is also scheduled.
In case you didn’t know, SCOAMF likes his hoops. Still, isn’t it a bit much to go cross country and back on our dime just to get his hoops fix?
Barack Obama is a huge basketball fan who fills out a bracket for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament every March. Michelle Obama’s brother, Craig Robinson, is the men’s basketball coach at Oregon State.
