The so-called “Occupy” movement crumbles across the nation.
Nine Occupy San Diego protesters were arrested and one was cited early Wednesday as police once again moved the group out of Civic Center Plaza downtown.
Assistant police Chief Boyd Long said that the arrests were mostly for resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
Long said the protest is an unlawful assembly that has created health and safety issues and that officers have seen a “significant increase in the number of violent acts” among those gathered.
Officers and sheriff’s deputies in riot gear moved into the area about 2 a.m. and ordered the protesters to vacate.
A police press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. today.
Television video shows people scrambling to gather their belongings as officers surrounded them and used bull horns to order them to leave.
The whole world is laughing at you.
