It’s Come to This: Media Now Outnumber Protesters at Zuccotti Park

You’ve got to wonder whether the editors of the New York Daily News pay attention to their own website. Today we see a link reading Occupy Wall St. spreads across the United States carrying a bunch of undated photos. This entire “movement” has largely been misrepresented by the media as “sweeping the nation” and a “worldwide movement” when it’s nothing but a clumsy leftwing movement aided and abetted by the Democrats and unions. Now that many of these Obamavilles have been swept up by Democrat mayors, only scattered remnants remain. And in the same NYDN today we get the live account and the stunning reality their movement has crumbled:

Strangely, this is the most excitement to be found in Zuccotti Square – where only forty hours earlier had been the scene of non-stop energy.

Really impartial media account.
Then this:
By my count security inside the park outnumbers protesters 42-29.

At Zuccotti Square members of the press now outnumber protesters.

Maybe if the media went back to covering the stories that matter (Solyndra, Fast and Furious, anyone?) they’d realize they’ve been sent off on a two-month distraction from the many failings of the occupier in the White House.

Yet the crestfallen NYDN “reporter” laments:

 I’m a little surprised.

It’s almost 7 a.m. and still Zuccotti Park is nearly empty, as you can see in the picture.

There are perhaps 25 protesters here and only a handful have trickled in over the last half hour.

Imagine the ridicule if a Tea Party even had only 25 people.

Then this delusional buffoon:

“This isn’t about sleeping,” he said, referring to the new rules of Zuccotti park, “It’s about awakening.”

DeVoe, of East Hampton, Massachusetts, said the small number of protesters here this morning is an anomaly.

“This is as sparse as you’re gonna see it down here, because of the confusion,” he said.

DeVoe said that it was important, however, to maintain a presence at Zuccotti, even if only as a ‘staging area’ for marches and meetings.

“We need to hold this space for the American people,” he said.

Thanks to this tweet for reminding us how South Park was ahead if its time:

Of course the lamestream reporters are disappointed. All that camping out and drumming, and they didn’t even loot a whole bunch of shops or set the cities on fire.

Occupy Belfast has collapsed, due to his mother refusing to make any more damned sandwiches.
