Exhausted From Grueling Fundraising Trips, POTUS to Vacation for 17 Days

We can’t wait until he’s on permanent vacation. Remember all that talk about “we can’t wait” to raise taxes or whatever? Well, I guess it can wait.

While most Americans are lucky to get a few weeks of holiday every year, it seems the country’s leader gets a little more freedom in the matter.

President Barack Obama has announced his Christmas vacation to Hawaii – for a staggering 17-day trip.

Obama, who visited the island just two weeks ago for an economic summit, will head to Honolulu on Saturday December 17 until Monday January 2.

The president, who was raised in Hawaii until he was six, will be joined by his wife Michelle and their daughters, Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10.

The White House travel office announced the president has no public events scheduled for the trip.

The President’s family covers the cost of a private beach front residence in Kailua, Oahu, for their vacation – a ‘Winter White House’ that costs up to $3,500 a day, or $75,000 a month.

But the local and federal taxpayers help pay the bill for travel and security.

Last year the trip cost more than $1 million, according to the Hawaii Reporter.

Obama announced the trip during a campaign fundraiser on Oahu’s Leeward Coast during his stay on the island last month.

Can anyone tell us what’s he’s actually done since his last vacation in August? Other than fundraising, that is.

This is the Hope&Change! that you voted for.

And we’re so lucky that we can get another 4 glorious years of it.

He’s been on one long permanent vacation since taking office, leaving his left wing flying monkeys to wreak havoc on the country.

Obama’s handlers needed him to go somewhere relatively inaccessible and keep his mouth shut until next year. Their first choice was Dutch Harbor, Alaska, but Michelle wouldn’t stand for it.

Obama can take all the vacations he wants now.
It no longer matters as he has already installed all of his corrupt minions throughout the federal government. They ignore the laws they do not like and make up whatever laws they need to bring about anarchy and the destruction of the United States. Even if he is not reelected it will take decades to weed out these people and try to repair all the damage that they are doing.

17 days vacation ha? I have not really has a “vacation” of more than 3 days in 5 years, other than Active Duty.

Would that not be a feature instead of a bug?

Are the kids going as “Senior Staff” again? I suppose Bo the dog could be listed as Homeland Security consultant.

Dubya was at his Texas ranch for 69 days in his first year alone.  Over his eight years as President he spent 490 days at his Texas ranch, 43 days at his family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, and 487 days at Camp David.  That’s a total of 1020 days, or 35% of his Presdency.

And so how often has Obama been on vacation?
President Obama spent 26 days of vacation during his first year in office and about the same over the next 2.

/ so get a grip people

    Thank you gavin.
A simple google search could have informed the ranting partisans but of course that would take a recognition of facts, something that doesn’t jive well with conspiracy theories.

    Get grip people, is right.

Petty much past Presidents have vacationed at their “homes” or home based. Sometimes they were referred to as another WH with some affairs of state and business conducted. It’s pretty bleak that the Obamas only very rarely return to their Chicago home where they might have family memories, photos, traditions of past holiday celebrations, friends, etc. Seems rather sad and desperate — all these multi million dollar rentals.

I recall a couple heads of state visiting W’s ranch. How many have visited O in Hawaii? And how many protesters have set up camp outside his Hawaii vacation home? Seems to me protesting in beautiful Hawaii would be a lot more pleasant than under the hot Texas sun. I’ll bet only union bosses are bussed in to island locales.

Has anyone notified the Japanese wale harpooning fleet in case Michelle decides to take a swim in the Pacific?

If some nutty NorthKorean decides to send a missile to Hawaii, just where would our Leader hide? How would he and his staff get off the island? 2,400 miles from the mainland and 4,400 miles from DC.
When former Presidents went home during vacation periods, they were doing the same thing as the rest of Congress.
No one expects our President to be caged in the WhiteHouse 24/7/365. It’s OK if they wish to take the family to a resort area, just like we would do (if we could afford it). We’re just miffed that he can live like a pampered king while we’re unemployed, losing our homes and just generally P.O.’d at everyone in Washington.

Let’s face it: we knew very little about the comings and goings of previous Presidents before we all found the internet (thanks to Algore). The MSM told us nothing if the President was a Dem but made a fuss if he was a Repub.
Now we know what time MrO starts his day and if he does anything meaningful.
What time did PrezBush start his day? Who did he confer with in the Oval office? We weren’t told.

We would like it if our President would show some restraint in his travels. Times are hard for us.

Nice post Gavin. You may as well have written “Nyahh nyahh nyahh nyahh nyahh – Bush did it too”!

That’s the way a ten year old argues, by pointing out that someone else did it too.

I wish he would stay on vacation until his term ends……much less harm that way.

From Toejam: “Has anyone notified the Japanese wale harpooning fleet in case Michelle decides to take a swim in the Pacific?”

Hey Toejam – with those “toned arms” of hers she could just use one to block the harpoon. But thanks for another crackup of a post.
