Another Green Failure: San Francisco “Green 960 AM” to be Replaced by Conservative Talk Station

Posted by on Dec 02, 2011 at 10:06 am

The heartache is just delicious.

The universal grip of mostly conservative talk radio in the US has hit the Bay Area radio airwaves.

I’ve been told by a few industry people that KNEW is moving from 910 to 960, replacing the liberal Green station, (Green 960 AM).

910 AM will be relaunched as KKSF-AM – “Conservative Hot Talk“, according to one source.

That would leave the Bay Area market without one commercial, progressive talk station. KGO Radio, (810 AM) is more centrist to right, and KSFO is an ultra-right outlet, (with Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin anchoring syndicated shows).

Green 960, which carries mostly progressive shows like Stephanie Miller, Alan Colmes, and Norman Goldman, is, ironically, owned by ClearChannel.

The comments are a hoot.

“Obama should have fixed this mess by nationalizing radio. Then the good stations like KGO could re-hire all the people they let go. Green 960 could stay on the air.”

“Dec 1st and near 70f here in the eastbay…and conservative radio will never even accept global Neanderthal talk will thrive.”

“Conservatives have time to listen to these cranks because they are sitting around in dead-end jobs, if they work at all, blaming their failures on liberals instead of their own stupidity. Liberals are too busy. ”

“Why don’t we liberals listen to talk radio? Because we don’t need the constant reinforcement that perpetually insecure, professionally paranoid conservatives do to valid our political ideas. Conservatives desperately need their “bubble.” But I recall seeing an article forecasting the end of conservative talk blather in the next 5-10 years, as its 55-dead demographic is both dying off and unattractive to sponsors. “

Do these people know what self-parody means?

I read the same lame comments from my lib friends on Facebook. Maybe omputers have screwed up the political landscape by empowering every self righteous twit to express their inner lameness.

The left already has NPR…which is partially tax supported. Folks are sick and tired of hearing the same leftwing talking points on

When AM radio was dying twenty-five years ago, conservatives saved it. We needed a voice before Fox. And now we have two sources to go to when the MSM covers up the truth.

    Good for the new format.

The clue is the word “commercial.” A commercial station relies on the free market to survive. The conservative stations in the heart of progressive-land have more of an audience than the progressive stations why they went out of business.

Libs want things but want others to pay for them, such as NPR

Wait…libs are too busy? What, camping out on Embarcadero? Those are really funny remarks!!! With KGO dropping most of its talk show format, the Lefties have very few outlets for whining…

The comments from the libprogs are priceless and give us a huge window into their twisted minds. Liberalism really is a mental disorder. I wonder if MessNBC will carry the funeral for Green 960 AM live or on a delayed telecast? More importantly, will Stuart Smalley deliver the eulogy?

It sems as if Green 960 is finally living up to it’s name, and going where the green really is

I am part of the 1% conservative population of San Francisco.

Important point he is talking about commercial talk radio. The lefties have several radio stations here – KQED, the NPR station; the ravingly progressive KPFA, and several college stations.

Lefties here don’t want for radio talking points here. They are just envious of our occupation of 99% of commercial talk radio.

    They are so fail.

station is gone because Clear Channel, owned by Bair (Romney) for the last 2 years wants to remove every lib voice from the airways. They will accomplish their task in the next few years. God save America!
